something tells me that is going to be worth it though. IF we could get him @ 10M I think it would be a bargain. I mean that's kinda the going rate for a quality DT in this league right? If elite are making 20M we should like the 10M.

perhaps it is homerism, but I think both of them are going to improve esp DJ given the chance to shine. DJ won't be Buck (only a couple are) but if you give me 1/2 Buck or 3/4 Buck lock up AA who has played very well 2 years in a row now and use that 13th pick right, I'll be more than happy.

If you can go back and dig up DJ running the cones at the combine a couple yrs back, it was something else. A 330 lb guy running at 30 degrees to the field, and running those cones like a guy on a motorcycle. He sold me just on running the cones. Go look. It WAS impressive. If he is healed, he is starter this yr. Wish I knew what his health is like right about now.

He had a high ankle sprain right? Should be ready to go by TC.Originally posted by pasodoc9er:If you can go back and dig up DJ running the cones at the combine a couple yrs back, it was something else. Wouldn't he need to be a 3-down guy to get into that range?

I'm guessing he may be by mid season. I mean we'll certainly have our rotation to keep guys fresh but the homer and DJ fan in me thinks he might be hard to get off the field.

If he becomes a 3-down player and gets to be a top-10/15 guy, go for it. I'm looking at Jones and Street to emerge at DT this year. Thomas is a distant third.

Taylor, Jones, and Givens are the one's who will have to step up their games.
I think Street and Thomas are on their way out.

So we give him the money we pay Solomon Thomas. Problem solved.
