"He has heavy hands, can get to the quarterback, you ain't moving him on the run, it's not happening. As far as being grimey and a man in the trenches, I want to have a household name like Fletcher Cox."

HIm and Kinlaw! I can't wait to see them together on that DLine either!

Great run defender with surprising quickness for his size. I'm looking forward to his development this season. I got a feeling he's going to make the niner's roster decisions that much more difficult next off-season.

No question. He's actually the reason I believed that we didn't need to go DL with our 1st pick

Many (and I am guilty of this too) often fail to acknowledge the impact a healthy D.J. Jones had on the 49ers defensive line. It wasn't only about edge-rushing health https://t.co/ADd8wKkmFb

The 49ers average DVOA against the run when Jones played over 15 snaps: -11% (13th best)
— Niners Nation (@NinersNation) August 2, 2020
In the other eight games where Jones didn't play more than 15 snaps: -2%. (10th worst)
he's a big deal

I love DJ. Dude has a chance to be a force out there this year both in run defense and pass rushing if he can stay healthy. Another late round gem of a find for this team.

DJ and Kinlaw - in the middle and Ford/Bosa outside, watch out! I think this is a better DLine than maybe with Armstead in there. There is great depth on our DLIne, and I am so jazzed about it.

Truth. I know I say this a lot but, "If he stays healthy..."
...well, you know.

That's probably Zgonina's doing, and that's why he's gone. Once Kocurek came into the organization, I think DJ Jones was immediately elevated and Earl was let go.
