Yup, we've known this for a while since NC reached out to one of Kocurek's former players, and he was kind enough to give us a breakdown of DL and the type of players they need for it all to work.

One of the reasons I why I wanted ya to go after Grady Jarrett and Khalen Saunders. As a former quick but stout DT myself... I know how important that kind of player can be to disrupting the run and pass game.

He's a terror in any scheme, but Grady Jarrett would ESPECIALLY be a terror in this scheme.

That would have been great but Jarrett signed a 4yr $68M deal with the Falcons, $17M a year, no way the 49ers would go that high on a NT.

Well, he's more than an NT. He's also a dominant 3t and an all-around elite 3-down interior DL.

Disagree with you bro, especially if he comes at a discounted rate because of the injuries. If Armstead, Ward and Verrett can have so many chances, then why can't DJ? Kid is a stud and absolutely worth the risk vs reward

Agreed 808. Hopefully he doesn't miss too much time, either way it would be too soon to give up on him now.

True, but it was a pipe dream, I believe he was franchised by ATL, then signed to a 4yr deal before the deadline.

It also makes sense for our DT's to become slimmer because the teams in our division are just throwing a lot more and employing more 3 WR sets versus running the ball from base formations.

Funny, I was thinking the same thing 🤔
I would still bring him back if he comes cheap because the upside makes it very low risk high reward. In a perfect scenario he plays just enough this season to make a difference to our D but doesn't play enough to warrant him asking for alot of money as a free agent.

The MRI was inconclusive which to me is a good sign, that they couldn't find any serious injuries. At least that's how I'm taking it for now. Hope the next tests have the same results.

I don't think there is really an NT in a wide 9 scheme. they are all basically pass rushers.
Solly can be effective against zone running teams playing at 1T but against power running teams he won´t hold his ground because he is too small.

We really need DJ because he is big and agile at the same time and also he is a good pass-rusher. Heck DJ is the whole package.

That's what I was thinking. It should mean nothing is torn or broken because that would certainly show up. Hope to hear something today.
