That brings up a question. When do you consider a player to be injury prone? I suspect it's different for everyone. Is it a player that misses 2 or 3 games every year? Is it a guy that has a major season ending injury once or twice? Surely a guy that's hurt every year and misses at least half the games is injury prone. How about the player that never has a serious injury but is always nursing something minor that slows him down.
Yea that's a tough one. If a guy misses 2 games a year. I'm not gonna kill the guy or call him out as injury prone. Sport is pretty violent. The thing with DJ is that I just didn't see more big plays out of the guy. I think he's a solid player who could grow. Just with a tight cap we need to spend money elsewhere.
I think of injury prone when a player comes back from an injury for a few games then gets injured again. Ward was like this for a while.

Right it seems like Ward was hurt every 3 weeks. Been durable the last 2 seasons. We just need some guys to get on the good side of these injuries. s**t can't possibly happen again next season.

The #49ers are re-signing DT D.J. Jones, source said, and he gets a 1-year deal. An underrated starter for them.

This is good. If he can put together a healthy year, I think he bolts for a decent sized deal next year. This has been a fantastic offseason so far.

Love getting DJ back. Kid can be so good if he just stays healthy. Curious on the cap hit. Could be heavy incentives

Awesome move to get DJ back, I was hoping we'd bring him back, I like the idea of Kinlaw and Givens as the 3Ts, and Jones & Daniels as our NTs.

As I figured and @Jay_AB81 confirms, D.J. Jones gets the mid-level exception.

He gets $2.2M, but will only count against the cap for about $900k. Great, great deal for SF.

Me neither. But Richard Sherman once again came in clutch for us by failing to pick up his bonuses.
