Cheap

I know right. The main reason is we have Kinlaw waiting as well as banks, I find it hard to believe we don't see the value of having a guard like Tomlinson who's never injured. For our team that should be priority number one but I guess 13 million was hard to match. We are definitely going to have pass protection issues yet again
Didn't Banks play some snaps and was decent this past season?

we will be fine, as long as we add some more OL depth which looks like we have

Nope
Apparently we gotta save space for Jimmy G's $27M
I just don't understand why there isn't some exceptions to allow teams some teams leeway in keeping their own drafted players. Unless there are rules i don't know about?
That's too much money for him. Although he is pretty good.
Bummed. Liked DJ a ton. Good for him. Hopefully, we can continue to develop homegrown talent.
Damn , my favorite unsung hero last year is buh bye

There is, it's called paying them more. I support these guys chasing money early in their careers.
We drafted a lot of D-linemen over the past 5-6 years.

Why not keep the good ones from reaching Free Agency?

I hope the 49ers find another quick, short stout type of NT. It was fun watching him develop. Good luck to him.
Solid player that earned a price tag a little beyond what SF could afford.

At least with 49ers' DL I am confident they xan develop the next NT they draft.
Huge loss. I'm not sure it's a good idea to let a 27 year old stud DT leave in FA. Lets see how it plays out. He's been way more effective than Kinlaw in just about every way.

Got to say 50% snaps and former 6th rounder. Happy for him good move and great football city with good fans. But for us this is the right move on to find the next late round / or cheap FA. We got a lot of draft capital and money invested in our D line, Bosa, Kinlaw, Armstead etc. Need to round out with some diamond in the rough types to make the finances work. No Jones and Tomlinson means we can make a splash at CB imo not crazy money but solid starter type.

splash at FA made

Hope it works out, Jones was a force this year.
Sad to see him go, he was a good contributor. But Broncos overpaid
