This...we have a ton of beef inside and outside but what this defense needs is edge rushers from both the SAM and Elephant spots in nickel and dime sets (i.e. situational pass rusher who could end up rushing up to 70% of the time). We need about 3 more of these guys.
I mean to be fair, along with Brooks,Harold,Watson,Lynch,possibly even Blair... there's only so many snaps to go around if we're talking DEs on obvious pass downs(nickel/dime).

And this is why when fans complained about "Oh, no, not another DL..." , one wonders what exactly they were thinking of. You just cannot have enough Edge guys.

Listened to Cosell's interview today on KNBR. Said he's very intrigued by Pita T. Could see him being very effective rushing off the edge in the LEO role.

yup, i heard that too and got excited. If this guy can develop as our LEO and bump Aaron Lynch's lazy fat butt off our roster, I'd be happy

If he has a quick first step, and is a blaze of speed off the edge, do you really care if he can't stop the run? If he is as good and fast as advertised, he can learn about stopping the run as he goes on. If he's just greased lightning en route to the QB, he would be a very welcome commodity.

yup , Eli might have to pack his bags if Pita can show consistent pressure on the QB in pre-season , which is what Harold rarely did these past 2 seasons

Found our first potential LEO. i don't see him being a 10 plus sack a year guy but I see him as a guy that can provide 6-8 sacks and give constant pressure, which is more than what you ask for in a 6th round pick.
