I think he goes on the PS to start the year but ends up getting called up later in the season and develops into a solid pass rush specialist/backup

He's gonna be eating up some second and third string line men and gonna make it real tough to release due to the competition we have.

If he shows any kind of upside as a edge rusher he'll make the squad.

boi, u trippin.
the hate for brooks reminds me of the hate for goldson. Sure he gets penalties here and there that can and should be avoided, but dude is a playmaker. One of the best OLBs in the game.

Yeah, but he's on his last legs. How old is he? Like 45?

As a prospect, Taumaoepenu has to excite defensive coaches, as he has an explosive first step off the snap and great edge speed, but needs significant refinement to his game. While he struggled against the run in each of the last three seasons at Utah (17 missed tackles in 2016), he's been a productive pass-rusher throughout, and really took a step forward during his senior season with 54 total pressures. He'd be an ideal fit in the middle of Day 3 for the Cowboys, where defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli would likely use him initially on third down from a wide-9 alignment to get after the quarterback while he developed his complete skill set.

Lobo, if that is all he can do, fine...have him get to it. If he misses tackles on RBs, but can chase the QB all over hell and back, bring him on. Having that quick first step....lovely.
Can't wait til they put him in on a 3rd and 6 . Tell him it's a "GO" route. Tell him to go like crazy and do nothing else til the QB is on his back in the dirt.

lol exactly paso, completely agree. if he makes the team, we would probably see him used like Aldon was first year. No reads, no adjustments at the line. Line up outside, wait for ball to be snapped, then go kill the QB, preferably before the whistle blows.
