Lott? Hell, Merton Hanks couldn't play today's game

Lol. It's sad but true.

That's a cop out. The game's been sissified no doubt. However those players would have been able to play because they were smart players. You adjust when your a great player. Was that a good hit by Colbert??? Hell yeah. Was it a stupid hit by Colbert??? Hell yeah. Gotta be smarter you know the deal.

At least before you could just take the 15 and set a tone. Now you can't even set a tone. Got to be physical from the chest down period. NFL is getting ridiculous. Player's union is ridiculous. No hitting all off season. Players aren't conditioned to it. Can't play through injury (unless your Staley playing with a broken face or Mack with a broken leg) anymore. Injuries aren't getting better but seem to be getting worse.

Either way the game is the game great players will adjust. I really like Colbert he has a lot of talent physically. However I've seen a lot of stupid plays the last year plus. Come AC let's go baby now is the time!

This is where you lost me, Colbert was just doing his job.

This is why everyone is wearing pads!
Lol a bunch of internet tough guys talking about how soft the league is. Even with the safety rules in place, 99.99999% of webzoners would leave even a 4th preseason game on a stretcher.

But you constantly see "this league is 4 sissies!" on this board. It's pretty funny

I may leave on a stretcher but I can guarantee you one thing. I would spend more time on a practice field before I left on that stretcher then Joshua Garnett.

99% of the NFL players can't do what NCommand does as a multi-billion dollar hedge fund manager!

But seriously, my point is that none of the NFL players can do what most folks here do as their main profession - be it Chiropractor, engineer, doctor, or drug cartel kingpin. (JK about that last one ) That's a cop out argument at's irrelevant to the discussion.

Look you can't lay hits on people like that in today's NFL. That's it. It sucks I get it but you can't do it. If it even looks questionable your screwed. Might as well replay those at least for the ejection rule like they do in college. The people that run the league just don't want to get sued anymore. All about the paper.

I still don't understand why they just can't make them sign waivers. Maybe it opens up more lawsuits like it would be the NFL admitting it's unsafe which football is. One of the reasons why I love it. Until then aim for the abdomen. Idk what the answer is your going 100 mph an hour and trying to make a play, the team etc. Still you can't do it you know they are going to throw a flag 99% of the time. Now you get ejected. Lol.

You avoid the penalty by playing the ball not trying to take out the wr. The ball was overthrown he didn't make a play on it. Gonna draw a foul every time.

This all day. Refs will whip out the flag every time they see a big hit. Be smart play the ball.

This. My frustration with that play is how he seemed to have no clue where the ball was. It's like biting hard on play action, then tackling an OL because it looked like he might've had the ball. Then clapping for the flag. Then being mad that it was on him.

And he needs to own up to it quick because the opposing OCs now know (if they didn't already) that he can be a liability out there.
You guys need to lay off Colbert. In 2017 he almost made the Pro Bowl. Last season he admits he came in unready and got hurt early. He was never the same all season. Now, he's healthy and still hits like a mule. He has run a 4.25 40. Don't give up on a guy with his speed and talent. He'll end up starting.

I finally got to watch the game, and this play.

I do not agree with the penalty, but wont scream about it. But the ejection is bull s**t.

The gripe i have with the foul, you have to see the WR did not make the catch (keep your head up) but when you make the tackle you have to get your head low.

And if you fail in any way, it is a very steep price.

The bold is very good for questions!

But if he has the awareness of a chump it doesn't matter, I remember Taylor Mays was fast and hit hard too.
