I wouldn't be surprised if he wins 3 games before teams figure him out and shanny ruins him.
LOVE the idea of giving this guy a chance to play.

He's worked hard and can at least get a chance (national tv) to experience what could be a special game for him..

Best of it all, we can at lease see if we have another Steve Bono or will need to find our NEXT Steve Bono..
Yippee

In case you have not noticed but with a limited gameplay shannys qbs do extremely well. As soon as they show any potential he will expand the playbook thinking they are the next montana and stop playing to their strengths.

I think mullens will win a couple games then shanny will think he's got something, over complicate the playbook and playcalling and then proceed to choke more games just like he did with beathard and jimmy g.
I'm going to put on Keystone Cops music for this entire game and just enjoy it.

8 more games to go.

Because CJ Beathard has won a couple games right.

I like that he beat Brett Favre's records. Lets hope it transfers to the pros.
I havent given up on CJ being a good backup and wouldn't mind letting him keep getting the experience he needs to improve- that being said, I have been wanting to see Mullens play after watching the limited work he did this preseason. I thought he looked better than CJ as far as the "it" factor. (I know it was mostly against guys that are selling cars this week).

I know he was working with the scout team at first but he's also had 5 games now as the backup plus the preseason/training camp so he should at least know enough to allow him to prove himself for this game
Don't expect miracles. Mullens is 3rd string for a reason. He may win one or two games since the next 2 are winnable but that doesn't mean he is better than Beathard. Lot's of guys look like pro bowlers in pre season when you have guys playing that don't even make the team and there is no game planning.
I am glad mullens is playing. I can't stand watching CJ play.

don't really care if Mullens throws Ints. Just be a gunslinger and rip it. I hate how CJ just stands like a statue to take a sack. His processing speed is terrible.
agree... CJ showed us what he is and what he will be.. . an inexperience backup at the moment who will become a solid backup for years to come.. This early experience of his will be the key to becoming a solid backup..

It reminds me of Frank Reich at Buffalo, he was there early and over the years and end up learning a lot from Jim Kelly..
You know it's bad when there's activity in the Nick Mullens thread.
Greasing the rails on the fast track to the number one pick in the draft!
