I'm right here....I was wrong....Go Nick!!!
I was wrong as well. His ball placement previously looked much worse. Only had a few bad throws. He looked solid out there. And deserves a start next.
Still though it's not fair to write C.J. off as being worse when teams had more than 2 days to study him. Plus C.J. didn't have the luxury of playing against a defense close to as bad as the raiders . Rams. Chargers. Cardinals. Packers even have a better D and C.J. looked great out there. Made throws that Nick dreams of making.

Lets see if he can keep it up but right now congratulations you beat the worst team in the NFL.
Damn yall gonna just steal Nick Foles nickname? He actually has that nickname for a reason. One of his teammates spoke up on the topic.
It has been appropriated. Plus it makes my wife roll her eyes every time I say it so.....

You're right no doubt, Beathard has faced some tough as nails defenses. But Mullens ability to just make quick decisions is what puts him over the edge right now. We most definitely need to see more of Mullens to make a more accurate judgement of his play. Hopefully he gets the start next Monday the Giants defense is about the same as the 9ers.

And I get it. C.J. has an issue holding the ball too long and with pocket awareness. But on some of those, all our guys are covered. I wanna see how Mullens handles that when we're down 10 and are desperate for a comeback. Does he throw it away on third down like a responsible young man, giving up on the drive. Or does he try to wait for a receiver to get open like Jimmy and C.J. did.

I know it was against the Raiders, but the Niners aren't much better. We were just the better team tonight.
Mullens did good against a bad defense. Nonetheless, he's a practice squad guy who we desperately elevated due to injuries. Everyone on our oline (except Laken) is playing hurt. That squashes the fact that their dline is average at best.
No matter, you can't really take nothing away from him. On one or two days notice, he was told that he'll get his first NFL start on national TV while everyone was watching (no other games on).

A boatload of missed assignments on the raiders part but dude did his job and beat the raiders. Seasons over for me. Now go out there and tank ,boi.
Do your best Brett Faver impression and throw 40 yard picks.

If he keeps this up all year, do we trade him? What if a qb needy offers us a 2nd?

I bet Kyle would make Shaun Hill look like Brady. JG too famous for Kyle's offense.

First off, Mullens played really well. Taking nothing at all away from his performance, but the Raider defense was terrible. The mark of a good QB is that you beat the teams that you are supposed to beat and Mullens did that. I wouldn't have an issue with him starting against the Giants if for no other reason than he came in and gave the team a spark, much like Beathard did last year when he replaced Hoyer, even if it was in a losing cause. When things are clicking on offense it seems to fire up the defense as well, which was certainly evident tonight. I said in an earlier post that I wouldn't be surprised if the team came in and laid a beat down on somebody before the season was over. Wasn't sure I expected it to be with Mullens at QB though. Great job by the kid, another one of Lynch's UDFA picks from his "failed" 2017 draft.
