...Kyle did Mullens right. 3 step drops all night (compared to CJB and his 7 step drops). I think there was one time it was a 7 step drop and he got hit (near fumble). And you can have that game plan against this front 7 and their 31st ranked secondary.


But there is a lot to like about his poise, how he handled the huddle and play calling, his infectious energy, footwork, progressions, etc. You can build on that.

And now he faces the 2nd worst team and Kyle has extra time to gameplan for the Giants.

Looked good. Be nice to have s viable backup since C.J. has not shown much growth this year.

Big dick Nick (my guess at least) going to put us on a 3 game winning streak. And I think (IMO) he got blitzed a lot at one point, it was every play they were sending everyone.

I'm not sure about one blitz. I was in and out of the game because of my 4 year old but 3 blitzes I know I saw...the side arm pass to little early, the pass to little over the middle...and the pass to Richie James after the big gain, and I know there were a few others.

I think the difference between him and CJ is that he #1 doesn't hold on to the ball long at all
#2 has a faster release and that's why the O-line looked better...

Hopefully he's not just another Matt Flynn. Flynn was a one game wonder who threw for 400+ and 6 TDs against the playoff bound Lions in week 17 of the 2011 season. He landed a contract with Seattle based off that but flamed out in a hurry and never wound up starting for them.

Mullens will need to win multiple games and beat a couple decent teams before he can be crowned.

But Beathard on the other hand, if a backup can fetch a 4th to 6th round pick I'd take that for sure if Mullens keeps looking like this.

was it just me or did this guy look a lot like Jimmy out there. quick release and then that side arm pass to get the pass out with pressure in his face. this boy has a good zip to his passes too.

Louis Tiddick claimed that GMs are buzzing about Mullens after this game. Not sure if that is true off of one game, but interesting if so.
