How don't we? I remember trading for Jimmy G, Lake Tomlinson. I remember trading away Daniel Kilgore and Trent Brown.

Good thing is the kid knows the offense to boot. They stated last night during the game that Mullens was has knowledgeable on the offensive scheme has Shanahan is, that is a bold statement.

Loved his confidence in this game, even though it was against the worst team in the NFL. Still feels good to blowout the Raiders though.
One thing I noticed about Nick is he never took a real shot downfield, everything was 5-10 yard throws, which is fine when it's his first start.
Also he got blitzed I think 1 time the whole game, where CJ faced a blitz probably 9-10 times a game.
Still proud for BDN! I hope he starts against big blue!

he definitely got blitzed way more. however it makes a difference when you get the ball out on time and have a faster release

This. I counted at least 3 times he was blitzed. He just got the ball out faster than statue CJ.

He definitely processes the game faster, kid was built for the west coast offense. I havent seen him throw the ball down the field a ton, but his accuracy and timing looked good.

Those don't count anymore.

There's an expiration date.
I didn't know much about Nick Mullins until last night but WOW he is really good 3 TDS no INT 260 yards and he has quick release with the exception of almost pick in the end zone he was perfect last night. Why has this man been on the bench so long I really don't want to see CJ Beathard no more this season from what I saw last night Nick Mullins is way better CJ

The WZ already overhyping one of our players after his first game against the worst team in the NFL.

The kid did a nice job and has some interesting traits (quick release, doesn't stand in the pocket like a statue, doesn't seem to panick against the blitz), but please stop crowning him the next Brady or thinking how many picks we may get in a potential trade in the future.

Well Well Well, where are the NOODLE-ARMED naysayers ?where you at....oooh i did say earlier in the post that he would be alright.......Well I guess its back to CJ Molasses........ Nick has a faster Processor then CJ Molasses...but its back to turnover zone.

I'm right here....I was wrong....Go Nick!!!

I was wrong as well. His ball placement previously looked much worse. Only had a few bad throws. He looked solid out there. And deserves a start next.

Still though it's not fair to write C.J. off as being worse when teams had more than 2 days to study him. Plus C.J. didn't have the luxury of playing against a defense close to as bad as the raiders . Rams. Chargers. Cardinals. Packers even have a better D and C.J. looked great out there. Made throws that Nick dreams of making.

Lol!!! Yeah, the whole 10 points against the Rams and 18 and 15 vs the Cardinals. Yeah, CJ was Steve Young those games.

Lol reread the post bruh. I'm saying it's not fair to already say he's better and throw cj away because nick did well against a s**tty d that quit and cj struggled against solid D's

Alex, I'll take 'Run on sentence" for $200.
Only three players in the Super Bowl era have passed for 250-plus yards and three touchdowns with zero interceptions during their NFL debuts: Fran Tarkenton, Jim Kelly and ... Nick Mullens

'He's a machine in there and I was happy for him'- Shanahan

I will say this. the 49ers have a very good back up in Nick Mullens behind Jimmy G.. Just think if Mullens starts next Monday and wins, he'll have more wins than CJ Beathard. lol

I disagree, CJ looked very good vs. Green Bay, it's too bad his defense couldn't give him the support Mullens had.

Way to go NC...great way to start the morning with a cup of coffee and a great laugh.
Regardless of who we played, this guy deserves a second start. Kyle needs to make this decision right now and let him get reps all through the bye week and week leading up to the giants game
