No one is defending him. He has been awful.

again, it's not Mullen's fault he's still w/the team... same toward CJ.. and for all the games we wasted dressing up Pettis, it wasn't his fault either.. his plays alone were already begging for a trade or a release but we continue to hold on to him...

we signed Sanu and released him in no time, it makes you wonder how that is not a possibility for others.. it just makes you wonder...

Then we sign some bum name Cracraft out of no where and he gets playing time..

No more excuses. It is obvious Mullens cannot carry a team. Then who do we look to if the personnel at QB is not changing? Mr. Kyle Shannahan. YOU sir, need to calm it down and start designing game plans to put Mullens in an ideal position to succeed. He obviously cannot carry this offense. Teams around the league get into QB trouble and dial their offense down a little for some basic, consistent success.

When will people understand Mullens will be nothing but a Case Keenum or Ryan Fitzmagic journeyman?? He will win some, and lose most unless the rest of team around him perfectly clicks around him, or he faces the worst teams in the league (2018 Raiders, Broncos, Jets).
He is an ok BACKUP and will never be an starting caliber QB to win. Put him last year against Arizona twice and New ORleans and he loses all those games. Put him against Pittsburgh and he doesn't connect the TD to Pettis to win it.
This teams need a great QB who CAN STAY HEALTHY. And to help with that, also needs to upgrade the OL. So invest as much as you can on QB an OL. The defense will have their struggles with a change of DC, but a high powered offense will give you chances to win any game. Fireworks, fantasy points, that's what today NFL is about

All the mentions of him going to the same college as Favre has gotten to his head. He thinks he's a playmaking QB, trying to make things happen that aren't there. That pick6 was so bad.

Not sure what that chart is but being near Wentz and Newton can't be good. How is Trubisky better than RWilson?

Yeah, it really is time to see what CJ can do.

We've seen what CJ Beathard can do. He's a slow processor who struggles to see and feel pressure. I cringe watching the guy just freeze in the pocket when a rusher is bearing down on him because he just takes the punishment and gets smashed. Is he tough or his brain fried from all the damage he's taken in college and NFL? Sure, he has a stronger arm and can push the ball down the field, but he has no clue where it's going when it leaves his hand.

People need to accept that we're stuck playing with backups, both of whom are not good when forced to play for prolonged periods of time. It is what it is. Hopefully, next season we'll have a talented young player behind Jimmy or whoever is starting.

As a rookie yes but he's been in the system now for 4 years it's time to see what you have to justify keeping him on the roster all these years.

Did anyone catch Shanny getting on to Aiyuk after Mullens made a crap throw to him in yesterday's game? WTF is Shanny looking at or thinking? Mullens can't hit the broad side of a barn and Shanny complains to the WRs? Get this dude off the field please.

I'm sure he sees more on the field than your average armchair qb.

Yeah, that's not possible. I've played Madden for years, Kyle is still green compared to my knowledge buddy
I said it before the season started, IF we want to be in the Trevor Lottery, Shanny should start Mullens this season..

You blame him for that one?

I'll give you the fumble.. but the pick six, Juice left him out to dry. If this happened to Jimmy, folks would bash Juice for not attacking the ball, let alone just leaving his spot. I mean if you look at the play again, there was no benefit for Juice to run up field. Especially with how Nick was under duress in the pocket.

But yes I do agree he thinks he can make plays (which he has during his starting career), but what he f**ks up on is thinking he can out run or maneuver NFL pass rushers... as well as beat the these NFL Safeties with his arm. (He's got lucky like no one ever so far)

Edit- watching the play again, it was a horrible decision on Nick's part... not so much trying to hit Juice in the flat.. but Nick had the first down right infront of him to the RB.. worse time for him to f**k up like that.

Nick just didn't see the defender. It was his second read and I guess he was kind of desperate to off load it. Can't blame Juice.

Lol Shanny tends to defend his Qbs more than the others on the team. He also blamed Trent In week 1 for the Jimmy Int.
