I like how Mullens first two starts will be primetime games. Its a fun storyline for the fans.

if we honestly finish 9-7 it truly shows how good Kyle can be as HC.

Not trying to trash Kyle, but he needs to do a better job of grooming his QBs. Jimmy looked incredible with a dumbed down playbook in 2017, but then for some reason Kyle felt the need to dump the whole offense in his lap. After that, Jimmy looked like a different player often not getting rid of the ball or throwing late. Why not give it to him in chucks over a couple seasons? Stupid. I hope he doesn't do that to Mullens.
What was it about last night that made you think the playbook was not wide open for Mullens? Mullens has been in this offense for both seasons.

looked exactly like jimmy did last season. When shanahan kept it simple for him. As soon as he has to start making reads and decisions, he'll suck.

Kyle explicitly stated that Mullens had the whole playbook to work with last night, and the offense wasnt dumbed down.

Yep. Just posted something similar.

draft picks are gold bricks in the NFL.
Yeah but a real backup who's cheap? Imo that's a silly move.

Yall don't remember what happened the last time CJ was benched for an injury?
In all seriousness, a part of me really doesn't want to win anymore. I want to see us actually compete and not look like the Raiders but I'd rather not end up with a 1st round pick that's just out of reach of a game changer.

I just don't like reading stuff like that when there is no facts to back it up. Watch the all22, observe, then make this type of conclusion if you notice simple concepts being dialed up. All22 isn't out yet so I was wondering how oaklandNiner came to that conclusion.

Lets pray this happens. We need all the draft picks we can get right now

I doubt the playbook was dumberd down. It was the Raiders and all our basic s**t was working. The TD to Garcon is a play we run 4-5 times a game. Same with the Kittle TD. The Raiders just suck and our BnBs were working.

Yeah that was our actual offense, not a simplified version or anything.
I have to be honest, Mullens actually reminds me a bit of Jeff Garcia (minus the happy feet.. so far..) -- Build, his zip/release, fiery game day attitude. Fun to watch.
