I have seen enough of CJ to know he isn't the guy. With better talent around him, he could be Alex Smith mold. Not saying Mullen's is a keeper either, but I definitively know CJ isn't the guy.

Alex's only knock was that he was too conservative, trying to avoid the turnover rather than take a chance on a big play. Beathard is a turnover factory. Don't see how they're comparable at all. A better one would be Jeff George.

Disagree - I see a lot of early Alex Smith issues with CJ. Not the strongest arm and awful at feeling pressure in the pocket leading to a ton of fumbles, sacks and picks. Add in the lack of confidence which you can currently see in CJ's play and he looks a lot like Nolan years Alex.

Alex had 7 interceptions his last 2 years at Utah. Beathard had 15, with 10 of those coming his final year. That's almost 1 per game. Tendencies are tendencies.

It's not the game results, but the glimps into Mullens' skill set. It is one game, but it is encouraging. The difference in NFL teams is very small, and that is an NFL team over there. And I sure don't think they wanted to tank 34 to 3. Chucky not happy.

My only conclusion so far is he's better than Beathard.

QB controversy on the horizon.

Just bought my 2034 tickets to Canton. Because it's so far in advance I got a great discount on front row seats to Mullen's induction ceremony.

Wrong. The worst defense is Tampa.
Mullens is clearly better than turnover machine C.J. Beathard. Watching the 49ers vs. the Packers and Cardinals, I thought the 49ers were losing even when they were ahead. The players' body language was bad, as if they had no confidence. Shanahan was not calling plays with confidence. OK, it was the Raiders, probably the worst NFL team currently, but it was still refreshing to see the other team make all the mistakes for a change. The 49er sideline was different, and I think Mullen was the difference. Beathard would not have been as good as Mullen. I don't think it will be as easy next week, but I think it's a no-brainer to go with Mullens. I even think Tom Savage will likely bump Beathard from the roster.

Wrong. The worst defense is Tampa.

By what measure tho? They're both s**t. Tampa allowed 33.3 a game (last place) . Raiders allowed 31.5 (2nd to last)

Raiders have an unbelievable 7 sacks for 52 yards in 8 games(last place). Tampa Bay has 16 for 101 yards in 7 games.(26th place)

Tampa is 4th worst in net yards per game at 415.3. And raiders are 7th worst at 407.1. Raiders have 2nd worst run defense. Tampa has 2nd worst pass defense.

Tampa has a disgusting 1 interception for last place. Raiders are tied at 24th with 4.

Tampa tied for 10th with 5 fumbles recovered. Raiders tied for second to last with 2.

Also keep in mind Tampa's defense has been put in tougher situations. 15 picks in 7 games from Winston/Fitz to 8 picks in 8 games from Carr. Both teams have each given the ball away 4 times due to fumbles

You sure you were watching the packers game? That was an amazing game up until the end. We looked explosive out there and put on a show for the nation. Definitely looked confident out there.

But I completely agree we looked amazing Thursday . Tons of confidence.
