Oh God. Here we go with the arm strength argument. Should have just brought back Kap if that's what we wanted. CJ is like a less athletically gifted Kap now that I think of it. Can't process the field fast enough but instead of throwing it in the dirt like Kap would he throws it in the hands of the opposing DB or the palms of the DLineman
Kyle still saying that CJ is the better QB because he hand picked him, but in reality, can you honestly say The Mule is the BETTER QB between the two after 2 games only??

Wait what?

huh? CJ is racist now?

Cj was a trump supporter while he was running for office. Some people automatically call all trump supporters racists. So I'm guessing that's what he's talking about lol.

He also listens to country music, watches WWE and this

wtf does any of that have to do with racism. Grow up people.

What do you expect? You ever heard that saying "liberalism is a mental disease"?

He's just looking for attention.

Yeah, not to mention the ball is out of Mullens hands 10x faster the CJ's. Mullens hasn't taken a sack yet in 2 games. CJ was a statue and took a ridiculous amount of sacks. Nobody in their right mind thinks CJ > Mullens.

Part of that is the short patterns that Kyle is calling so he can get rid of the ball quickly. He knows anything deep is not Mullens' thing. The other is no pass rush. We all complain about the Niners not having one but the Raiders and Giants are both worse. It still amazes me how quick we are to jump on the band wagon after a couple games. We had Kap going to the HOF and how did that work out. Tebow looked good for a couple of games in Denver and he's playing baseball now. Please let's see a few more games and see what develops when he faces better defenses that squeeze the middle of the field and force him to throw sideline passes which he hasn't looked near as good on.

Mully >>> Montana >>> JG >>> Young
For a guy that at best only gotten 3rd team reps, which equals to no reps at all. For a guy that has only been on the practice squad it is amazing that Mullens has performed like he has in real NFL games. The thing is Mullens can only get better the more he actually has meaningful practices and actually opponents to go against. The only thing he was doing was having were imaginary games with just him, a football, and a set of Bose headphones.

That last part, hella sad, someone should give him a corn dog to soothe
Well he did look better than Alex Smith's first starts.

Nothing too exciting but he is better than CJ which we wasted a 3rd rounder on.

Yeah, I just had a slow motion image with Meatloaf "Love Hurts" playing at three quarter speed.

Don't need Kaps arm strength but an avg NFL arm is a bare min requirement. Mullens makes S.Hill look like Favre.

Shanahan predicted the defensive play calls and that helped out Mullens as well......... when was the last time we had a coach that could do that lol

Too bad hia understanding of defenses doesn't translate to us having a successful one.

his understanding of defense is also what makes him a great offensive mind. to be able to attack and expose defenses you have to know how defense works itself schematically. but that's not his job... that's Saleh's.

Yah, if Mullens had a stronger arm he would have been a top pick in the draft. Normally I don't consider arm strength as being important as quick release and field vision but in this case it is obviously going to keep him from being a top QB. Sooner or later you need to be able to make those throws to the outside and from what I have seen when he does they are in danger of being picked off if the defender jumps the route. The throws just don't have much steam on them and when a ball is picked off on the sideline it often becomes a pick six. I still like him so far as a reliable backup that won't screw up.
