Thanks for pointing these two out. Kyle seemed livid with Pettis on the sidelines after the throw. With his shake at the LOS and extra steps, could Kyle have been upset with him on the front end of the route throwing the timing off a tad...same concept with him and JG earlier on in the year that lead to an INT.

Quite possibly. He gives a little extra move with his release off the line.

Surprised nobody asked Kyle about that, not that he'd throw Pettis or Mullens under the bus anyways.

I don't think it was him being weird with his route running in that scenario considering the Jimmy INT was him being late to the ball giving the DB a chance to get inside and make the pick. If Pettis was late on that route that makes Nick's throw even worse considering it was behind him.

My guess is either he wanted Pettis to stop earlier(don't recall if it was zone there) or could've been upset about him reaching back for the ball and giving the DBs a chance to grab the bounce for the pick...or could be something else entirely.

So how many losses before we change his name to SDN?

This loss wasn't his fault though.

He didn't lose the game, but he didn't win it either. You have to continually win and win big to carry a name like BDN. Two more losses and its MDN. If we lose out its definitely SDN. If he starts throwing ints and bombs totally, then he'll earn the infamous title VDN.

Well according to the stats above, and this logic explanation..... He will return to BDN from almost MDN status with a win against the Bucs.

I'm shocked the 49ers aren't on the bottom 5 of that list. If the Raiders had shown up to play, I'm sure they would be.
BDN bout to have a day
Poor Nick, he has no clue on tanking

Shanahan predicted the defensive play calls and that helped out Mullens as well......... when was the last time we had a coach that could do that lol

Too bad hia understanding of defenses doesn't translate to us having a successful one.

his understanding of defense is also what makes him a great offensive mind. to be able to attack and expose defenses you have to know how defense works itself schematically. but that's not his job... that's Saleh's.

This is all the more reason to let kyle manage the offensive side of the ball and someone of known experience , who isn't just a retread, be hired as DC. We don't need someone who can learn as he goes.. DC is a huge job and you don't learn it in 18 months. You have to be around it a long time. See all the intricacies, plus some of the basics. We got a green DC on a green team. Why is anyone surprised that our D doesn't work? Worse our penchant for picking talent on D stinks. A skilled DC could help here immensely. And GM and HC need help badly in acquiring D talent. To date, they are batting....oh...about F-.

Do the 49ers have any healthy WRs?

They have cat scratch fever. Dante Pettis is the most likely culprit
Looks like Nick Mullens will be playing without Garcon or Goodwin against the Bucs , I hope our scrubs can help him out.
Kid is struggling mightily to throw outside the numbers. Lack of velocity compounded by poor accuracy.

Yea. Pretty much why every route we run is being sit on unless it comes off play action.
This guy blows. Get well by OTA's next year Jimmy.
