Haha enjoy tanking Jets. If Rosen and Darnold don't declare they will be screwed for another year or 2.

Yeah that would leave Allen and maybe Lamar. Hahah yeah 2-3 year development with Allen and Lamar being a worst version of RG3

OK now I'm kinda turned off by Rosen's comments. I mean he acts like players now and in the past haven't done the exact same thing he's going through right now. Sure there's a lot of money made in football, but there's a lot of money being spent on things that support college sports too. There's a reason that you get offered a COLLEGE EDUCATION while playing football.......chances are very slim that a player makes it to the NFL, not every player is considered a top prospect like Rosen is.
If that's the case Rosen and you feel Academics and football don't go hand in hand, then quit there's always the CFL to the NFL path you can go. I'm not sure what scouts and GM's will think of you after that.
I don't see how anything he is saying is wrong. The NCAA is criminal in how it treats "student"-athletes.
Yes you can argue they give them an education but the cost of that education is substantially less than the revenue they generate for the NCAA and the demands of a D1 football program don't enable you to even take advantage of that education (anyone that has played D1 football at somewhere not named Stanford can attest to that). They not only don't pay players for their contribution, they prevent them from getting money outside of the program for anything to do with their name.
Coaches force them to spend countless hours signing autographs and meeting with donors, who in turn donate millions to the school, but get suspended for selling an autograph (or trading a signed football for a tattoo). They've suspended players for making money off standup comedy youtube channels, producing music on iTunes, seriously. The NCAA feels like they own the name of these "student"-athletes which unless they're fairly compensating them is like modern day slavery. Slaves got room and board too, some even an education.
Rosen isn't in the group of those that will be used and spit out by the NCAA because he's undoubtedly going to make millions in the NFL. That to me is what I think is noble about Rosen and will actually cause him to be liked by players and teammates. NFL owners may cringe, but can guarantee you a locker room agrees with everything Rosen has said. Good for him to have the balls to say it and stick up for those players who will give their body, sweat, and brain to make millions for their college and be working at Best Buy when their college career ends.
Yes he may be an entitled prick, but certainly not for these comments. As a former D1 football player, I like him way more for it.
Again, it's not a right to play football at a University it should be an honor. Yes a football player has to work extra hard to not only get an education but what it also teaches you is to be a model citizen. Not only preparing you for life outside of football, but for the NFL too. You don't believe it? Look how many players get in trouble because the spotlight is too much for them at the next level?
Yes a university makes tons of money off their football program, but they also make money off their basketball, baseball and so on, where's the complaints from them? Rosen acts like football is the only sport in college that supports the schools. Schools offer these kids $20-$100 thousand dollar scholarships, players that are in the arena league don't even make that much.
I mean if you wanted to really make your statement known he should've of declined to go to college or UCLA and entered the CFL then make his case. It's like giving alcoholic's free liquor for years then complaining about it, you don't like it, don't drink.
Agree to disagree I guess, I mean, he'd have more of an argument if more players than just him made comments like that in the present or past.

Well, maybe Mora knows that line is going to get him killed again... Can't put up numbers if you're hurt. That line was as bad as it gets without criminal negligence being charged.

I'm gonna jump in with my two cents on the full article.
What I got from it, is bacially football players are brought in to play football right? Certain schools have different guidelines in order to go to that school and play....Alabama for example isn't gonna require a player to maintain a cetain GPA vs say Stanford or UCLA.
Talented players that might not have any ambition to get a degree or just plain and simple aren't very smart are gonna go to places that don't require those scores. IMO players that actually get degrees in s**t that really matters AND actually are starters/play well, well that's very impressive but not the norm.
I think he was simply saying that if schools like Alabama had the same requirements as say UCLA well talent would be spread around a little more. Think about it if your a top recruit and your whole goal is playing football in the NFL would you go to a school like Alabama and not have to study your ass off OR would you go to Stanford and have to maintain a certain GPA to play (if you can get into both)?
The whole comment that football and school don't mix was blown wayyyy out of proportion imo.
I mean if I'm totally off base let me know lol

Josh looked at the exodus of talent from the Jets and was like "yeah I might stay another year"

Guy can make some opinionated statements but he most certainly is not a dummy. I can see him staying if he believes a disaster is about to select him.

Just so he can get his head knocked off for "free" in college a whole other yr?
Like you said he's smart and knows he's one injury away from not being a millionaire and fulfilling his football dreams.

I don't disagree. I guess it all depends.
Personally, if he has a chance to be drafted within the first two rounds, he needs to go; if football is his main focus. He's going to class and wants to graduate, so, that plays into his decision. But, I will agree, if you want to play in the NFL, you need to get away from Mora and that s**t O-line.

I don't see how he's not a top 64 pick unless he gets injured again. Yup best for him to get out of there lol

I really wonder about this. We've seen other QB's in the past do this to avoid unfavorable situations. If the Jets have the first pick, I wouldn't at all be shocked to see both Rosen and Darnold remain in school for another year. That team and organization looks like a disaster.
