Most definitely unfortunately UCLA is trash the supporting class especially the OL is bad

The hype/hate is only gonna grow when he rips up Hawaii next week.

Find me a college QB which that doesn't apply to. Earlier this year I watched Deshaun Watson randomly chucking up throws that Mike Williams simply outworked the defenses for. You're not going to find one of these QB's that isn't making a number of mistakes that will need to be corrected at the next level. They are college QB's after all, they will make throws that NFL defenses would eat up, but that is what you have NFL coaching for.

Rosen wasn't perfect but he showed a tremendous amount of resiliency and toughness. Those are the things you are looking for. His team got down, the defense was selling out to stop the pass and he kept firing away, making throw after throw under pressure. More than the stat line, the final score, what scouts are going to be looking at is how the guy Cowboy'd the f**k up and led his team to a huge comeback, even if every throw along the way wasn't perfect based on NFL standards.

If you want to go in the top 5 then you cant be making throws like Rosen did yesterday and Watson did last year.

You're trying WAY to hard man. 99% of college QB's don't lead that second half comeback.

No Rosen on UCLA no win vs A&M.

Sure, one of his passes could've been intercepted. Any number of passes from good to great QB's can be intercepted. Great QB's will even throw 10-15 ints in a season sometimes. No QB is perfect. Rosen didn't play a perfect game.

What especially stands out to me was the pure beating he took in the first half. UCLA was dominated in every way imaginable, including Rosen being on his ass most of the first half. That would shell-shock most QB's. Heck, being down 34 points in the third quarter would sink most QB's.

He put that team on his back. Mistakes or no mistakes what he showed in that game translates to the NFL whether you like it or not.

As great as that come back was, he made a ton of questionable throws and some of those touchdown passes were pure luck. If he pulled that s**t in the NFL, he would have a ton of Interceptions.

A ton? Show us on tape. Youtube has videos of every pass from that game. I counted 3 questionable passes out of 59 attempts. There was also a couple high/low/behind passes but that's to be expected in 59 passing attempts. Especially when you have no o-line for most of the game and your WR's aren't getting separation.

59 friggin pass attempts. That's basically two NFL games for an NFL QB. Of course there will be some bad throws/decisions in 59 passing attempts.

We could watch some of Montana's comebacks and pick apart some bad throws/decisions. You can do that with any QB. At the end of the day the results speak for themselves.

Even if UCLA lost by one score it still would've been a hell of a second half comeback. But they didn't lose. They won and it is what it is. They wouldn't have been in that game at all without Rosen. Mora has done a crapoy job of getting talent on that team. It's pretty much a 1 or 2 man show.

Great comeback...but, before many of you go completely all-in on Rosen, this was just the first game of the season. Darnold, Allen, Jackson and some others will have great games this season, too. There'll probably be some who'll come out of nowhere, as well. This was a signature game from Rosen, no doubt...but was it an anomaly? Only time will tell.

The reason most of us like Rosen is because he's a pure pocket passer. He doesn't rely on athleticism, broken plays or playing outside of the pocket.

Some of us think that's a better fit for a Shanahan offense. A guy like Darnold may be better in other ways and a better fit in other systems. Doesn't mean Darnold sucks. Just because he had a "bad" game week one doesn't mean much at all either.

For me it boils down to who fits our scheme. I think that's Rosen. I'd prefer Cousins because 99% of rookies are 50/50 no matter how good they are. IMO Cousins brings an 80/20 chance of us making the playoffs his first year here (2018).

There's pro's and con's with Cousins but If we don't land him we may have to sell the farm to move up for Darnold, Rosen or Allen. We won't know till the end of the year but I'd much rather be in a position to either land Cousins or one of the best rookies in the draft. I feel good about our chances of landing a good QB in 2018.

If we land Darnold after he has a good 2017 then great. If that's who Shanahan wants. IMO if given the choice I think he'd take Rosen. He wants a pure pocket passer.

yeah Mora is just terrible at recruiting a good supporting cast. That OL got Rosen beat up throughout the whole game. In the 4th quarter Rosen got hit right after almost every amazing throw he made. Rosen was impressive playing under such great pressure and getting off those throws. A little bit a luck but that could be said about alot of great QBs making legendary throws. Just like last year when edelman bobbled that pass in the SB or Rodgers hail marys. Great QBs have good luck on their side alot.

I will say though i was a impressed by UCLA WRs. They have improved alot. Wilson 81 is a stud and will be Rosen's #1 target this season. A&M could not cover him

On Mora's recruiting I wouldn't put it 100% on him. Is he great no but not to sound like Rosen but it is more difficult to be eligible at UCLA than some other schools. So his recruiting pool is limited then he is competing with Notre Dame and Stanford kinda schools. It's an uphill battle. I do think Moras a decent coach though.

As far as the lucky throws. Quite a few were luck or thrown up. But Rosen rarely could step into his passes. And when you are down 34 points it's pretty much your only option to just throw it up and give your receivers a chance. The one that went threw the defenders hands was a bad pass and would be intercepted 999 times out of a 1000. But 1 truly bad pass with everything went threw that game isn't bad. He has some other passes that were questionable but that pass was pretty god awful.

You had a point? I had no idea, My bad.

1. Goff had 5 INTs vs Utah not 3.

2. When Goff had that game he had 15 TDs through 5 games & after that game he had 26 TDs.

3. He went #1 more on being a QB and Rams desperately needing one rather then being worth that #1 pick. Most people had him ranked outside of the top 5.

4. There are always exceptions to the rule.
