They would trade down if they were in the area code to pick Rosen or Darnold which would be a pretty pricey trade up to whatever team happens to covet them. Most likely more than what the Rams paid for Goff, but probably less than what Washington gave for Rg3. Anyway you slice it we don't want to be picking behind them at all of you like one of the top 2 QB's at a non-sodomy price (Not to say Rudolph doesn't look enticing depending on how the cards fall).

My bias is towards Darnold and Falk, but an X factor (good or bad) in the 49ers' (future) evaluation of Rosen may be their UCLA connections. Shanahan + Embree + Embree the younger are all familiar with the program (even though it's not that recent). Outside of Mora, they should be able to get the inside scoop on Rosen and/or use their understanding of that environment to judge him.

Very good point on the Embree's. But luckily for us Rosen is going up North to play Stanford and Lynch has stated he'd watch Rosen play in that game. But if the 49ers want Rosen, we all need to bite the bullet and not complain about us losing, that's what it's gonna take to get Rosen. Unless the Bears or Browns pick #1 overall and the 49ers pick #2 or #3, will be the only way the 49ers get Rosen, other than that no team is gonna give up their chance at Rosen. It's gonna be like the time Indy drafted Andrew Luck, no trades wanted!!!!

Next season or off season it's gonna come down to Kirk Cousins or Josh Rosen I have no doubt about it.

The thing is though that if someone like the browns or bears land at #1, they will probably trade their pick to a mid pick team like the jaguars or bills and get a whole bounty. If we were at #2, we would probably have to trade next years first just to jump up one spot. We have to get the #1 overall

Honestly trading next years 1st round pick isn't all that bad for Rosen. QB's like Rosen seem to happen once every 5-10 years, unless you happen to have the winning lotto ticket and land a Tom Brady in the late rounds which happens....oh once in a life time it seems like. If Josh Rosen is the QB Shanahan wants, I think they'd trade next years 1st. Besides getting back into the last quarter of the1st round isn't all that hard, they did it with Reuben Foster!!!

No cost is to much to get a Franchise QB. And from what it looks like Rosen might be that guy. Sure the Redskins look dumb for going for RG3 but either you continue to go 8-8 or risk it all to move up to go for a QB. Or hope you do so bad you lock down the #1 pick. I still don't think the niners will be picking out of the top 5. And I'm not ruling out the #1 pick because the Jets have an easier schedule

jsut watch that whole second half of the A&M game. A lot of luck, and his WR's bailed him out. He's got the makeup though no doubt.

I'm on the Rosen train. We've got the makings of a strong defense and running game, which paired with Shanahan can make this a great situation for a Rookie to start in. We won't put too much on their plate right away, but they can grow into the position. Getting that QBOF will make me feel so much more excited to watch games.
