Need to get Cousins and shop the hell out of that top 5 pick. Can be "rebuilt" in one more offseason. Can easily get QB, WR, OL and CB stocked with talent.

if we have a shot at rosen though, you take him. If he isnt there, then i agree to trade out and stockpile picks

I'd be ok with that. I'd also be ok with Rosen if Cousins demands way too much money. BUT, if we were in a position to trade the #1 or #2 overall pick for a kings ransom it would offset a massive contract for Cousins.

Cousins would also offer a higher chance to win more games right out of the gates. Rosen would have a lower chance to hit the ground running (compared to Cousins).

Either way I like our options in 2018 more than the options we had in 2017.

But free agency comes first, so I think that will dictate the 49ers draft.
Rosen will be a 49er. Book it

Outside of Rosen which player would teams sell the farm for? It's almost always QB so Darnold would have to play better this season and declare. Or maybe a dark horse gets hyped going into the draft. Who knows.

I don't see Allen as a guy worthy of a bunch of picks. This Thorson guy is being hyped but I don't see it. I know he has a crappy team but I don't see anything near Rosen's pocket game/mechanics in Thorson. Mayfield? Jackson?

I'm starting to like Falk as a late first or early second QB but not a top 5 guy that teams will lust over- to the point of selling the farm.

Not if he stays in school he's not, which I keep seeing on the internets. I'd be very very surprised if he opted for the draft and the 49ers were in position to draft him, especially with trades happening left and right, I wouldn't doubt it if New orleans hands their draft to some team for Rosen.

True, if we can't get Cousins (which is a possibility either way) we NEED to be in a position to get one of the top QB's in the draft. Especially one with experience taking snaps from under center and experience running some pro concepts (Rosen).

Rushing QB's and pure spread QB's aren't going to be on Shanahan's radar. At least not at the top of his list. I think he'd take one if all the right fundamentals are there but he'd obviously prefer to evaluate QB's in situations they'd be facing in the NFL.

You can still evaluate spread QB's, you just have to throw their stats out of the window and look at tape with a microscope sifting out all the short/quick passes. Many don't have much to offer as far as NFL relatable experience. It's there, just not in large quantities. Small sample sizes. That's another reason I like Rosen for the 49ers. He fits what Shanahan is looking for. He'll have a larger data set to analyze.

I can see Jackson getting hyped if he has a good pro day/Combine. His performance this year has looked much better but he is still in need of a lot of bulking up. But I agree Rosen's the only one as of right now worth trading up to #1 for.

True but if we have the #1 pick we will be able to dictate who we try and get in free agency.
That was the problem with Trubisky. His data set was too small. The risk on that pick was even higher than spread QB's with 2-4 years experience.

Still, I liked what I saw in Trubisky's pocket game. It seemed he had the fundamentals down. Good form, footwork, throwing motion etc. Went through progressions with some longer developing plays (outside of short passing). Had good accuracy, threw with anticipation, good ball placement to protect his WR's etc. He also made some NFL throws into tight windows but at the same time many of his throws were to a wide open slot receiver. Small guy, forgot his name. That sort of separation won't be common in the NFL. Kinda like Trent Taylor in college. That kid had about 5 yards of space around him on a lot of passes. Rosen doesn't have that sort of WR group. His guys aren't getting that sort of separation. A lot of his passes are into tight space/coverage.

Anyway, I'm babbleing.

I think a team or two will really like Jackson. The rushing QB's always attract some teams. He has looked better passing from the pocket this year but I still don't think Shanahan is going to go down the RG3 road again.

Will a team sell the farm for him? I don't think so. I do think he'll go within the top 10 or 15.

If Rosen or another top QB isnt there, you aren't stockpiling picks. Teams pay out the ass for QBs and little else.

Basically if the 49ers signed Cousins, the best case scenario is Rosen or some other top QB prospect sitting there to entice some team to pay up big time.

Giants will most definitely get Barkley they need a RB so bad not a problem tbh

Nobody is taking a RB over a QB with the first pick. Rosen is likely going to be the #1 pick for whoever holds it. Manning is definitely on the downside of his career and you can more easily find a RB in later rounds than you can a QB.

Not my point don't believe Giants are taking QB regardless someone would trade up in that scenario

I heard, Eli Manning will trade to Jaguars because his old head Coach Coughlin team. I am concerned if NY Giants will be 0-16 when they will draft to Rosen?!?
