I haven't reduced Lynch's list (players cut / practice squad), but I think both lists ( % / numbers ) will be relatively close by time the all cuts are made. 51 one on Lynch list (for now)

Wow this is such a better way to look at it. Next update I do, I'll organize it that way.

29 Baalkies. And I agree, we're not going to go much lower than that number. So, the 53 man is actually going to see a rise in the Baalke Meter.

I'm curious to see your / other poster's outcome since you guys are more serious and knowledgable of players. The outcome, I'm sure wouldn't be too far from accurate. I would have a tough time with Lynch's list since I haven't seen a lot of those guys play for long or at all...

Final 53 plus PS should be the reference level.

Good point about resetting the baseline once we get to a new benchmark. When we get to 53, I'll could use this as the baseline:

53 last year at this time was 51 Baalke + Staley (McC) + Brooks (McC) = 51/53 = 96%.

But I like your idea better 53 + 10 (practice squad).

So, 61/63 = 97%

You hope not to go that low in the first year because it says you have very little talent on the roster worth keeping.

2-14 record speaks for itself but it would be nice if the new regime could salvage some of these careers so we don't have to have a total rebuild across the board.

Unfortunately we have very few key building block pieces from Baalke. Buckner may really be the only guy. Bowman needs to show he's healthy but unfortunately may never be the same player he was before his knee injury and Achilles tear last season. Ward hopefully shows he's a key piece along with Robinson. If Buckner proves to be the only Baalke pick we can really consider a decent starter then boy this may take a while.

This for sure, and I think Saleh is pretty motivated to get started. Also, I don't believe (out of Baalke's drafts) we'll hold less than 22 players from last year. If 22 were the number, then the other 31 are the new regime's... who out of Lynch and Shanny's list are keepers?

You should give it a try - a stab at what the roster will look like - NC tricked me into doing it in his Team Needs thread. And? I already got one wrong! (Eric Rogers got cut lol).

Completely agree - I see us keeping around the number LV came up with ~25 ish, give or take a few.

As for who is kept from Shanny/Lynch's additions, I'd love to keep 30-40 of them, but who goes to practice squad? Check out NCs thread, he and AB have really good breakdowns of who they think is being kept and why - guaranteed money plays into some of it.

Lol me too!

But if you look at those 29 players from the reduced list, I can only see 7 at the most getting cut, and I actually think it could be less than 7 cuts. Unless Lynch / Shanny really want to fold and start from scratch (total rebuild, which I doubt).

I really think Saleh can work with a lot of the holdovers and he / staff will turn some of the average guys into solid depth while the playmakers (Bow, Buck, Lynch Foster, Solo, etc) will just get better.

But like I mentioned before, the Lynch list is the toughy...

Will do!

I'll have to take a looksy before I put into account how many wins we'll get close to... I'm thinking of wagering over 4.5 / 5 wins

I second this.
I think Dujuan Harris, John Theus, Keith Reaser, Blake Bell, Iworah are on their toes to keep a job. Smelter didn't make get cut if I'm not mistaken. If so he should be on the list. Ellington as well?

What a piece of work that guy was. Record breaking Demolition of a championship squad.

Im glad lynch is going for the record of destroying a bottom tier team. Not even p***yfooting around just getting rid of baalke's bums.

He's not "just waiting on it" thankfully.
It is now working how it should. The head coach and GM telling errand boy Paraag who they want and where they want the player and tell him to go fetch. Get on the phones biatch! New sheriff in town.

I know right? I will fight Biderman and Branch right now!

I have photo evidence that I had this idea yesterday before both those guys wrote their stuff. Makes you wonder if they read the zone (we know you do ).

I posted this in NC's Team Needs thread:

Bring it on lol!

I don't remember the exact day but I posted back a while that we were going to be over 50% gone by the time TC started.

It was clear last season that most of the players on the team should not be in the NFL. Lack of team speed was a huge problem and has been a problem for a long time. Even in the Harbaugh years we didn't have the speed on offense to really scare anyone. Lynch/Shanahan clearly understand that.

More changes will happen as cuts happen but I don't anticipate many more changes. Most of the dirty laundry has already been sent out.

The improvement to team speed is incredible. I'm loving it. Speed is the number one thing listed on that sign they showed from the Draft. Like you pointed out, it's so obvious that it has been a priority for them since day 1. Get Faster. Then get even faster.

To your other point, I wouldn't be surprised to see another 10-15 ish Baalke players gone by the time we hit 53. And then it'll steadily go down from there. There are some Baalke players I hope stay Niners their whole career though.
