I just dont see it in Breida like everyone else does. He has a few runs a game that make him seem like he is better than he is. If he is not getting long runs he is getting stuffed. Look at the games since week 5. He's not a back that can tote the rock 20 times, he is injury prone, and is not in the game in the last 5 mins or in GL situations. Fumbled quite a bit too

We already have Mostert , he can do everything and can do it better

He was actually our second most productive RB last season. And the fumbles are about overblown on here. He actually has less fumbles than mostert throughout his career so far.

Depending on whether Brieda's either in or out of Coach's doghouse, his future as a Niner could be brief. He's arguably the best trade prospect on the team, save maybe Mullens. Kinda also depends on what opportunities Lynch gets during the draft to acquire more picks in rds 2-5. Breida could be part of a trade package in that regard.

100% this. I see TB making a ton of sense.
The draft is our chance to start fresh on a lot projects that didnt work out. Whiskers solly maybe breida if he is still mr butterfingers. We should be able to get 3rd and 2x 4th for these guys. Plus save on cap.
Breida just signed a one year tender as a second rounder. Not sure another team would want to give up a second round pick to get him, or am I misunderstanding it? I hope he stays. Rather see Coleman go, or even Wilson or McKinnon, who can't seem to stay healthy. Breida needs to prove he can hold onto the ball and work on his receiving skills to elevate his value. God knows he's fast and can run the ball.

do not get the hate for coleman or non appreciation. when push comes to shove when it comes to reliable. when it comes to productivity. when it comes to holding onto the ball. coleman gets the nod over breida. letting a known commodity go who does all the things that you said matt does not do and hoping for the best for matt is not logicial

He has game changing speed!

So you never know, I think we actually need him. Having backs with different skillsets and speeds can really help us keep defenses honest.
Coleman is 26 and useable. We should keep him if not too expensive

But if the man can no hold onto the football.. i wonder how many fans like me had a heart attack when coleman got hurt cuz i realized if mostert got hurt than breida would come in and we know how he can not hold onto the ball

Philly and Tampa could use a RB.
Eagles need a RB badly, So if they want Breida they should have to overpay to get him. And I don't think this is a deep draft for running backs. They can give us their 2nd round pick for him. If they think they can get their RB elsewhere involving their #2 pick or worse, then they can try. Breida's age and upside is too valuable to just give away. And yes getting Douglass who is not even good enough to play on the Eagles bad secondary would be giving Breida away.

The niners can trade Brieda for whatever they want. All that second round tender means is if another team signed him before he signed his tender with us, we have the option to match the opposing contract or the other team must surrender a second round pick to us.
