People hate on Jerry Jones in my mind he is a HOF owner. When he took over the team they had great history but were DOA at the time. He assembled the triplets, won 3 rings, and even today when I look at the Cowboys the problem is not personnel. They found a pro bowl caliber QB in the 4th round, good backs, great receivers, great line, good players at all level of defense. Talented club.

The smartest thing Jones did was hire Jimmy Johnson. Johnson made the Herschel Walker trade that netted them all those picks, then picked some really great players. Jones then proceeded to fire Johnson after back to back SBs thinking he could sustain the dynasty with Barry Switzer. He thinks he knows it all, constantly meddles with coaches, the draft, etc. He's an egomaniac that would've never had any titles if not for Jimmy Johnson.

Right. Jones without Jimmy Johnson is just a floating ego. And I am not sure if Jimmy Johnson without that idiotic Herschel Walker trade would be anywhere near the guy he is. So the Dallas dynasty is down to Minnesota! But Jerry Jones is just deep pockets and a huge ego.

Your take is the conventional wisdom. It doesn't explain how they have such a stacked roster. Number one offense 2 of the last three years. You can say he's meddling and that's probably true but heck if I owned an NFL team you are darn right I would want to have some say in the operation it would be my life work as he has done.
He has proven time and again his penchant for screwing things up because his ego gets in the way. There's a reason he hires guys like Chan Gaily, Dave Campo, Wade Phillips, Jason Garrett and Mike McCarthy; he can walk all over them. The only strong personality exception was Parcells and he was probably past his prime as a coach.

It's what separates a good owner from a crappy one. The Rooneys are a great example of hiring a GM and coach and then getting out of the way.

And the stupidity of the 49ers to trade Haley to, of all teams, to them, completing their defense.

Jerry Jones is what holds this team back. And his son(s) will continue that legacy unless they back off and hire a true general manager / head coach combo.
And there it is:

In other words my PR rep said apologize dumb s**t. You have endorsements to worry about.

Not just about endorsements as the NBA refs are even condemning his words for good reason :

People say this but they got Dak in the 4th, Zeke, Pollard, Cooper, Lamb, Schultz, great O line, Lawrence, Parsons, Vander Esch, Diggs, etc. with HC level OC and HC level DC. This team is loaded. Any GM doing this much work not named Jerry Jones would be up for executive of the year.
Mediocre franchise since 1995.

I'm willing to give him a pass for this since he has normally been good in his pressers. So we will see if it happens again.
