I don't think anybody is questioning his talent. The numbers speak for themselves but he basically fumbled his way off the active roster last season. Wasn't he averaging something real absurd like a fumble per 20 carries which is like one per game in a full load.

Give it a rest. He fumbled in preseason and the haters crawled out of their holes. The guy has played in 34 career games with a total of 3 fumbles. He is an excellent blocker and pass protector and runs a 4.34l 40, fastest of all the RBs on the squad. Better check your credibility...Your fumble every 20 carries statement is FAKE NEWS. He "played his way off the roster" by breaking his forearm against the Raiders right after going 52 yards for a score.

He's definitely a talent and if he's not on our roster we should trade him to a team and get something for him. IMO, he's worth it.

I totally agree. I have always liked this guy from last year. Personally, I think he is better than Breida. Breida is just too small and he can easily be stopped if you can get a hand on him plus he gets injured. Mostert on the other hand is a bit bigger plus he has better vision than Breida, he is especially good running between the tackles.

I think the RB depth chart should be Coleman, Mostert then Breida. Asfor McKinnon, I think he is a goner. I don't think he can make it back.

Totally agree.
Mostert signed a three-year $8.6 million contract in March, with $2.4 million guaranteed this year (salary plus signing bonus). Clearly the team values him. He's not a bottom of the roster kind of guy, even though that seems to be the perception of some people.

Yeah my bad. He has 41 careers attempts and 3 fumbles. So it's more like 1 fumble every 14 carries.

The guy hasn't played RB since college and, like most undrafted RBs gets relegated to special teams. This happens all over the league when GMs don't want to admit that an undrafted RB is better than the one they drafted. Mostert played RB for the first time since college and fumbled 3 times in the beginning. He didn't play his way off the roster by fumbling -- that's your fantasy. The guy is the most explosive RB on the team and will prove it this season. He is, like the article said, the second coming of JD Smith, one of the great RBs in 49er history.
Anyone ever watch this guy as a gunner? He's unreal. Literally is the first one down every time forcing the action. And he somehow beats everyone else on the team by a country mile.
Can we give this dude some love? I'm going to take a guess that he was NOT in the original game plan but came off the bench and was clutch for us. Clutch.
He was fantastic. Gave the room Devin Bush a stiff atm fr hell to welcome him in the NFL

Modern day Travis Jervey.
no no no no... I'm TELLING YOU ALL, he really reminds me of TERRELL DAVIS the more I see him run..

give him the BALL more more and more !!!
He was running angry today, all pumped and flexing. Took that kill shot from a Buc defender and bounced right back up like it was nothing. He's always been fast, this year he's looking ferocious.
IVE TOLD YOU ALL ONCE BEFORE, HE'S TERRELL DAVIS ALL OVER AGAIN !!!
Actually, he's J.D. SMITH all over again. Terrell Davis was a Bronco...Of course, JD has his breakout seasons in 1958 and 1959 so you may not have seen him play.
