This would be my choice as well, and I'm a bigger Hightower fan than most.

Williams would be inactive on gameday, while Mostert would be active due to being a gunner and kick returner.

I can easily this and pretty much agree. BUT if Bolden makes the team maybe Joe would be active at times instead of Mo-Money.

Seems like its a good lil problem to have if Mostert makes the team.

no lie. he was on my madden team and I thought he was just a made up player from one of my drafts.

The preseason isn't NFL football?

Every year we see a couple 49ers preseason Pro Bowlers winding up not making the cut. It could just as easily be Mostert who is on his 7th or 8th team right now.

He has played well but the coaching staff could also be looking at him as a guy whose ceiling is feasting on backup level players.


He isn't making the roster ahead of Hyde, Breida or Williams so he will have to be seen as good enough to bump a special teams only guy elsewhere on the roster.



Whether he makes or doesn't make the roster, I won't be surprised eitherway.

Agreed...he was the gunner with Don Jones and was also returning kickoffs too and looked good; similar to Colbert who started at CB, moved to FS and plays ST too.

ST is where it's at.

coming down to practice this week and final preseason game, he plays Special Teams decent, so always a plus to make 53 man roster.

He was my starting RB online last year....was taking runs to the house and had folks get on the mic saying I was cheating and somehow got a created player online.

No one knows who Mostert is...lol
