I that's fair considering where the cap is going in the next yr or so….besides gtd cash is what matters not APY.

Teams like the Chiefs last year, probably Cincinnati this year, are going to go all-in on OL. Laken should make double digits APY or very close to that.

I think the following OL will get double digit APYs.

LG Laken Tomlinson (49ers)
RG Brandon Scherff (Commanders)
RG James Daniels (Bears)
RG Alex Cappa (Buccaneers)
LT Cam Robinson (Jaguars)
LT Terron Armstead (Saints)

There's not a lot of good to great options on the OL out in free agency this offseason, if we can't get Laken locked up before the legal tampering period begins, it will be less likely he'll be back.

I just can't see us paying north if $9-10M per year for him, so I do think he cashes in somewhere else. Which means we'll have serious holes to fill. Banks, Moore, and McKivitz better improve…

That's going to be rough if they lose him. He's also an Ironman. Like you said, Banks and Moore will need to be ready to plug and play.
No matter how good or bad you think Tomlinson is, he plays all the snaps. The O line isn't terrible at pass blocking but they aren't great either. They need to keep guys like him because of experience and his availability. If they draft someone better then they have the option of trading him or keeping him in the rotation. If it comes down to him or DJ Jones, Tomlinson probably wins out because he takes a much higher percentage of the snaps.

I think Tomlinson is a B+ type player with excellent durability. So he's definitely going to get paid. The question is whether we'll be doing it or will some other team. From what I've seen G isn't a priority for Lynch/Shanahan, so I'd be surprised if they resign him.

You might be right but I hate to see them replace him with a rookie or one of the current backups. Trey will have a hard enough time without having to worry about the pass rush even more.

I agree. There aren't too many positions left that aren't already double digits in APY for free agency now. It's all relative now.

Is he any good? Former first round pick in 2015. How has he played? Has he been a bust or been ok?

He was a draft crush of many of us, and the 9ers staff member knew him from Detroit. I think this is a STEAL...... A fifth round draft pick in 2019, a player who has a few years left on his contract and get a fifth year option, LYNCH you rock.

Ha ha I called this one right when they got Laken for a 5th round pick. How come we only remember the bad trades and picks, oh wait because they have more of them.

Because everyone loves being negative, and refuse to acknowledge the good moves by Lynch & Co., and the fact that Lynch has done a very good job at building this team, along with Kyle, Peters, Paraag, & before last yr Mayhew.
