No matter how good or bad you think Tomlinson is, he plays all the snaps. The O line isn't terrible at pass blocking but they aren't great either. They need to keep guys like him because of experience and his availability. If they draft someone better then they have the option of trading him or keeping him in the rotation. If it comes down to him or DJ Jones, Tomlinson probably wins out because he takes a much higher percentage of the snaps.

we just saw burrow go to the super bowl sacked 77 times with one of the worst lines ever, stop the cap

The dude is a rock and the most consistent healthy player on our line. We need him back.

I agree. He is close to, if not the top priority.

I don't disagree, but our FO doesn't agree - at least their previously offseason would suggest otherwise.

I look at all the resources that have been used for the right side of the line and resigning one productive player for the left G spot seems both prudent and cost effective
Not sure if this is posted earlier and I'm too lazy to scroll back: PFF predicts Tomlinson to Miami and DE/OLB Melvin Ingram to SF.

he also has the chemistry w/Trent... I just feel that our left side of the OL is pretty much stable for another 5 years if we sign him..

in no world is laken more of a priority than dj jones... they already drafted lakens replacement, banks.. whether yall like it or not.. thank god yall aint building our roster dawg

Im not going to argue who is number 1. I just think we were surprised by the leaps so many different players took. So its going to take some creative structuring to get all these guys signed. If it were just Laken or just Jones, this would be easy. But its Laken and Jones and Key and Willis and Williams, plus extensions for Deebo and Bosa.

he literally is one of the worst pass protectors in the league, yall crazy talkin bout pay him $9 to 10 mil when you already have the 2nd highest paid lineman in the league next to him

He is not one of the worst PP in the league. He was ranked the #14 overall guard in the league this past season with almost even run and pass blocking grades. A projected APY of $8-9m APY would put him right in line with comparable guards, both right and left. If he doesn't come back, it means Banks will have to earn a spot at LG and someone else will have to step up and challenge Brunskill. IOW, losing LT will hurt the OL big-time...and Lance will be playing behind some very inexperienced guards. All this in addition to the fact it is not certain Mack will be back.

Yeach, that was a horrible take. Hope Paraag figures out something and that Banks ends up taking the RG spot.

the bosa and deebo extension opens up alot of salary cap, jimmy trade opens up cap space, the up in salary cap opens up cap space, jimmy ward wants to sign a new deal to open up cap space.. laken gone ... williams gone.. key, jones is not alot of money.. we need to bring in dj reed to replace williams.. we also drafted lenoir for this very situation.. this salary cap narrative is simply false

Huh? How does Bosa & Deebo extensions open up a lot of cap room? It doesn't, they're not signed past 2022. Jimmy saves us $25.55M, but we're gonna be, baring us getting a s**t ton of adjustments/credits, will be around $11.553M over the 2022 cap, and we need to be under with Jimmy on the roster once the new league yr opens.

Ward signing an extension would free up as much as $6.224M, I'm all for it, I'd say $11.5M a yr is fair.

Jones is going to get anywhere from $6M-$8M a yr, if he doesn't get re-signed before FA opens, then I can see him getting $10M a yr.

K'Waun won't be a big deal, like $3.5M a yr, Key should be $4M a yr, maybe as high as $6M a yr.

Not sure what narrative about the salary cap is false that you're talking about?
