The only issue with not going the security route of Lindsey or Jensen is that you need to spend a higher pick on a talented C to start learning from Mack...yesterday. But they didn't acquire that rookie last year so if Mack does retire now (speculation), their cheaper option plan failed. That C position is critical to Kyle's offense and is super nuanced and detailed beyond just making all the pass protection calls.

Alec Lindstrom should be there at 61. I am hoping we can get a 2nd for Jimmy so we can go two positions in that RD. Whether it's corner and Center or Edge and Center,

Sure Linsley was/is a good scheme fit, but so is Mack, who yes is older, but, he's just as much as a scheme fit as Linsley is. I'd rather go with Mack for 2-3 yrs, and then have a young guy take over, just need to draft that young guy.

Yeah, but will never happen, that's a lot of cash for such a few amount of players.

I get that, but, they couldn't have been able to even afford Linsley last year, with such little cap room last year they wouldn't have been able to make a deal, they only had a few players to create cap room(Jimmy, AA, Laken, & Ward, who was redone before the season to have cap room).

I agree they should have drafted someone, let's hope they do so this offseason.

That'd be nice!

Definitely. I know we were players in pursuing him so I wonder what they would have done if they secured him. Probably push down the line, huh?
Also you could say Linsley is a perfect scheme fit, or heck you could say Wirfs would have been, but fact is Mack & Trent both played in Kyle's scheme, so that made them the perfect fits.

Oh yeah. Mack + rookie was my 2nd favorite option. I had zero issues with that. Kinlaw over Wirfs or Lamb? Hell no. But everybody knows how I feel about that broken record. Haha.

The one thing with Wirfs is, without that trade down, we don't get the pick we used to move up for Aiyuk, I'd rather have Aiyuk than Lamb, and I like both, I think Kinlaw will surprise people. As for Wirfs, would have been nice, but, I love Trent Williams, so it worked out IMO.
I wanted Jensen that offseason so bad. But Lynch doesn't listen to me :/

He was my #2 but yeah, I had no real issues with that signing at the time. He had a ton of potential.
Drafting interior OL is the obvious move. Tomlinson is gonna get paid more than we can afford.

No question we saw this coming as evidenced by the picks of Moore and Banks last year.

Wow. If we are putting our hope in 2 dudes that couldn't even sniff the field last year, we f**ked.
We draft OL every year so I don't think it means much. We also don't know what we have waiting in the wings until they actually play.

It's an area of concern, but far from being funked if we lost him.

Do you trust these dummies to draft the right IOL? After Banks I don't
