Agreed. You've got to do everything you can for a rookie. We have plenty of weapons and we'll probably add a speedster/KR to the mix now too.

This isn't just about protecting him this year and giving him a chance to learn properly, but for the future too.

Trent isn't getting any younger, Mack hopefully makes it through one more season healthy, 50/50 if Tomlinson is back, massive question marks on Brunskill, McGlinchey, Banks and Moore...Compton resign?

The FO needs to attack the OL like they do the DL now and overkill on it IMHO.

If we indeed get a corner in FA, and let DJ and Laken go...I would hope this draft is at least 4 offensive lineman lol

I don't like our scouting on O-line talent. We do great just about everywhere else, but man something is up with whoever scouts the draft for us on the O-line. We do much better in free agency. Feel like we just need to spend big money and buy what we need and use the draft to fill other holes.

idk about that way of thinking.. looks like two more teams that would need Laken

It still reduces the market value for a Guard IMO. We might still lose Laken but his contract shouldn't be so out of reach now.

Agreed. That's been a long standing concern of mine as well. Last year they were willing to spend some high draft capital on OL but the consensus was it wasn't used on the right player. And so far, that seems to be holding true.

+1

Which is why…. we should only draft one OL…Jason Poe in the 5th round.

Bonus: he's a former FB who we can groom at center and put him in the backfield like harbaugh used to do.
My sense is Shanahan prefers experience at OL while grooming younger players. McGlinchey being the exception since he was drafted so high. But they have Skule, Banks and Moore. They will probably resign Compton and a couple of veteran free agents. I'm guessing they draft the Nebraska center late in the draft.

Feliciano top flight?
I'm hoping he's taking the Trent Williams free agent playbook and just wants to experience being a sought after free agent. Then after a couple days he eventually just signs back with us.

I think i would do the same as a free agent. Back in the day i bet it was a better experience as teams flew you in and took you on helicopter rides around the city.,

Has to be us signing him right? Otherwise it's tampering. If we did sign him, jimmys deal is all but done too imo.
