Levitre is also like 25-30lbs lighter than Tomlinson. We will see I have no reason to be excited about the move because he's proven not to be very good in his nfl career thus far....hopefully he can get coached up.

He doesn't need to be coached up. Like any player he needs to be put in a position to succeed

How is that different here? Just curious...I'm not hating the move cause we need at the very least depth but in no way am I drink the kool-aid on this kid.

Who are you and what have you done with cc?
should we be worried about staley to? that is why i hope they will look at another o lineman this weekend. i like the fact our fullback can play tight end. so maybe there is an extra roster spot for another lineman?

I think every team could probably always use more depth at tackle, but I'm not worried about Staley. There's no reason to believe that whatever injury he sustained in the Vikings game is serious. If they decided to bring on another guy for depth at tackle that would be fine, but we're probably not gonna get anyone that great at this point anyway, or at least no one good enough ease worries about Staley if there were any.

lol oh s**t he doesn't need to be coached up? Damn you got the inside scoop

I meant put him at RG where he is comfortable and let him do what he did at Duke which is own the ACC.

Same thing as Garnett. Put him at LG and let him dominate like he did at Stanford.

His personal PFF for 2016 was 49.8. Not sure where that graded him among NFL Guards however. Lower end I'm sure

What was duke running for blocking schemes? I don't watch them, sounds like you do just curious
Would have been nice if John Lynch would have spent some of the $50+ in cap room on some good free agent guards then wouldn't need to be trading for fizzled out 1st round picks. js

i get a bit nervous cuz it seems this year. and maybe its that way all the time with every team. when we say oh its a minor deal like with ward. and he will not miss the regular season.. all of a sudden it changes and we are looking at a worse situation than what we first were led to believe. if that makes sense
Based on opinions of Lion fans not very hopeful. reactions similar to when we got Devey. Hopefully he becomes another Ray Ray Armstrong.

Power.

Tomlinson is great in a phone booth as Mayock put it but struggles in space against quicker defenders.

He owns power defenders which is why he is tailor made as a RG next to Brown.
I'll be impressed if Tomilinson even beats out Beadles for the guard spot. Lynch's trades haven't exactly been stellar.....
So Garnett back to LG?

Solomon and Froster were picked up with his trades.

He won't be competing with Beadles for the LG. That spot will be Garnetts when he comes back.

LT- Staley
LG- Garnett
C- Kilgore
RG- Tomlinson
RT- Brown

Garnett and Tomlinson are two of the most powerful run blockers in the game when they are at their natural positions.

meant more like player trades. Bibbs and Zuttah seemed like they were wastes, in hindsight.
