He was average, but its really hard to find even average O lineman, so this is a loss

He'll get a bracelet. You get those at the hospital. On that field, I expect ACL surgery sooner rather than later.

The only people who are actually in it for a ring are the guys who already got the bag.

He was a good acquisition for Shanalynch, but there just isn't the $ to sign him to a big free agency deal when he's arguably replaceable talent-wise.
Agree. He's played well. He deserves a paycheck for his work. Good luck to him, and that tells me that 49ers may like their current OLine guys better than I thought they did. Maybe they really like how Moore and Banks have grown and said, we're not matching that - specially with Jimmy still on the books.

No, he wasn't.
The biggest issue with our line has been the right side. Guys like Compton, Brunskill and McGlinchey.
Tomlinson, Staley and Williams pretty much solidified the left side.

Yup great move not to get pulled into this money pit. Solid player but you don't pay a king's ransom for guys with a solid contract year for their 30+ year seasons. NYJ makes sense as they have money to burn like we did in 2017.

Happy for Tomlinson and this was a GREAT trade for the team. Maybe we take a swing at another low performing O-lineman on another team.
Also- HELLO 3rd round comp pick!! I wanted Tomlinson for stability purposes, but yeah- no way in the hell were we going to even come close to that. His guaranteed money alone is the top of what he probably would've gotten here. I hope Aaron Banks and Jaylon Moore are ready to START at the guard. And we need to add someone else to the mix.

Rip. He was overpaid, but we needed him.
