all the pro bowl guys were just lining up to play for the niners...come on, we were lucky to even get the FAs we got. good players dont want to play for a team that was 2-14 and all the issues we've had. it's gonna take a couple of years until we can get the big FAs.

Garnett and Tomlinson are two of the most powerful run blockers in the game when they are at their natural positions.

I think they made this trade because they know Garnett is not going to be available early. And possibly delayed into Week 6. Just my speculation.

To me, this speaks of a long-term trade thinking. I don't think they're picking him up because of Garnett or Fusco or even Beadles. ShanaLynch know this is a rebuild and have talked about knowing it's a rebuild and multi-year process. This more looks like an aggressive move to acquire a player they felt was on the bubble of another team who still has upside. They're treating him like a late round draft pick. He's got up to 3 more years on his contract and they obviously have had their eye out on other teams for possible upside talent that they can add to the team and see how they develop. This wasn't a deal to move the talent dial and make us competitive this year, IMO. I think it's a case where they know Beadles doesn't have a future here and they were on the lookout for a guy who has potential to fill that spot, is young and won't cost a lot for draft capital. Smart, sound move. I like it.

His personal PFF for 2016 was 49.8. Not sure where that graded him among NFL Guards however. Lower end I'm sure

Thanks. He's struggled to the point where he lost his job to a rookie in 2016, mid drive in a game (Glasgow). Sounds like a Garnett clone in terms of how they started their career. Late 1st round, mauler type that has struggled coming out of the gate.

Those guys were traded for equivalent of peanuts. It happens. I'd rather he strike out on the trades of low tier players and late round picks and nail the early picks/trades.

Solomon and Froster were picked up with his trades.

I mean there's a difference between trading for a pick and drafting a guy you want, versus picking known scrubs from other rosters. The latter is what I'm talking about.

Yeah, I'm not even so sure he'll start right now.

All these moves are with the immediate future in mind...Brooks, Vance, maybe now Beadles or soon... wait for cut downs too. Mow that the systems have been installed, expect more aging veterans to give way to youth for immediate development.
