OL Laken Tomlinson, signs with NYJ

I think this guy will have a very strong 2018 season. Remember, he was traded during the season and came right in after a few practices and was a starter very quickly. That's not easy to do obviously. He did struggle early but he played better as the season went on and I thought the last 3 games he looked pretty good. I think he will be a solid starter for us.

This is an interesting post and I hope it turns out to be true. He did come in late and had to pick up this complex scheme without any OTAs or training camp. Would be great if he turned out to be at least a solid starter.
He just got better with Weston R at his side

They can be each others' accountabilibuddies.

I think they will put Tomlinson on the same conditioning program as the had Garnett on in order to better run the outside zone scheme.

If I remember rightly, Tomlinson is a natural and better right guard thrown onto the left side of the line at Detroit. We've kept him there because we had Fusco at RG through training camp etc and didn't want to upset the chemistry. I could see him returning there next season.

For me, sign a quality FA centre, draft or sign a right tackle and trade T Brown (he doesn't fit the outside ZBS), then let Garnett, Tomlinson, Fusco, Williams and Magnuson compete for the guard and backup centre spots.

Yep.

Tomlinson is a natural RG and Garnett is a natural LG.

I fully expect we keep both and move them to their natural positions.

Same here. I'd be surprised if Tomlinson isn't at least in camp.
I think they let him compete for a starting role at the very least he's a cheap backup with starting experience.

For 1.6 mill I keep him now. Him and Trent need to drop weight.
if those guys aren't motivated with the year end success and how bright our future is.. then fk'em and cut'em

Hopefully Garnett beats him out

Do you want the blue or the yellow?

I mean he played better during the last few games but at this point save Richburg just about everyone in the interior of the line is replaceable.
