At least Tomlinson isn't the worst OL. Right now I'd say that's between Garnett and Beadles. Who knows if Garnett will improve from his terrible rookie year or not. The hope is he will make the necessary improvements and solidify the OL for years to come.

Cooper is a much better fit than him for this scheme at LG. I also think Garnett easily wins the RG spot.
not a fan of Garnettt, dude just like AA , always hurt and yet to prove himself
If I had to put money on it Garnett was a red shirt special last year to make more of a prototype as an OZS G.
Let's see what he's got.
So how many times did he get hurt? Besides going on IR to mold his body
I think Shanahan and co feel extremely confident that Garnett's reshaping will work. There were several guards in the draft with enough athleticism to project well in this offense, but they didn't budge.
My dark horse is Magnuson. He really impressed in preseason last year and the coaches love his toughness. I wouldn't be shocked to see he and Garnett starting at some point.
To answer the "injury" question he played 15 games his rookie year and started 11. Switched systems and like Solomon due to old rule missed OTAs etc.

Agreed...lots of hoping for not one but two "good enough" G play.

Hoping and praying for two good enough g players for jimmy and our team does not fill me with confidence that one is supposed to display here on the zone in regards to our team and our." o line is not as bad as some people think" mindset we are supposed to have

Bit of an exageration considering he's had one injury. Versus Arik who's been injured every year he's played.

This is also false. Armstead played all 16 games as a rookie. He had two unfortunate mid-season injuries in 2016 & 2017.

In case there was any doubt who will be starting at LG:
Niners agree to three-year extension with OL Laken Tomlinson, source says. Deal worth a max of $18m with $10m in guarantees.

I hope he improves in his 2nd year with us and a better player at C...need him to reach that potential. Not sure excited for this but I'm trusting Kyle on the offensive side of things.

Garnett looking like the odd man out. He's gonna have to show and prove in TC and pre season to earn a spot. Not really all that excited about Laken though. He was pretty meh.
