Cooper is a much better fit than him for this scheme at LG. I also think Garnett easily wins the RG spot.
I have no idea why people were so high on Garnett. Garnett easily win a starting spot? He is closer on his way out than anything else.

Bodyguard
When Lynch talked about wanting to sign him long term and he got down to 312 pounds, this deal was sealed. Congrats big guy...hope you ball this year esp. in PP.

Didn't think he was agile enough to do some of the things the offense wants, but what do I know. Maybe Kyle wants a mauler at one of the Guard spots to get that tough yard when it's needed. Supposedly he improved as the year went on so I hope that continues. He's still young for an OLman (26) and another year in this scheme can only help.

Didn't know that. Doing things to improve his mobility for this offense. Great to hear.

Joe Staley said Laken is really smart. I'm guessing that's what Kyle likes about him most.

To be fair to him, when did we trade for him? 1 wk before the opener? So it's hardly surprising he wasn't very good at first.

He did start almost right away for us and that's gotta be real difficult.

The key word in this deal is $18M, $10M SB max. I'm sure there are some big incentives that won't be earned in that contract that will basically make this a 3 year, $20M all in deal.
$6-7M for a starting LG with upside is pretty darn good. With a training camp to learn the system more, I could see Tomlinson performing at a top 15 level at LG. That salary for that play is the Paraag way.
