Agreed, I didn't think he was a 1st rd talent. He can smash people but I just don't see the fit

If he opens up holes on the right side next to Brown it won't matter the scheme

Heard he's playing LG

That's my biggest question. The FO has been trying to everything they can not to start Beadles. He has 0 future here but good depth right now.

Smart enough to pick up the play book

We can get away with a power guard on the right side in a zone scheme.

What happens when Garnett comes back doe? Two Inside power blockers.
Don't know much about him but obviously he's a 1st round bust if you get traded in 2 years for a 5ht round pick.

Please don't suck here. Keep Hoyer alive until Garnett is back.
Already an A++ move by the team even if the guy only last for a year... we only gave up a 5th rounder in 2019... this guy was a 1st rounder and may still develop ..

goog move !!
i read a Pff article that suggested in he struggled as a run blocker in Detroit but fared better as a pass blocker.

Detroits running game has been a joke for a long time, before they drafted Laken for sure. Hopefully his poor run blocking is a product of the lions ineptitude.

Pass pro has been surprisingly decent, but we need help in the run game. Worth a look at RG.

That's what I thought!
Good move, now we don't have to rush Garnett back. Solidify that middle and then when Garnett does come back we can let all four battle it out and see where the dust settles.

Good folks of the Webzone.

Don't put traits on this dude that simply don't exist. This is a fair trade for a backup-level guard. It's nice to have depth. But don't hype this dude up. He's not that good, and that has nothing to do with playing in Detroit.

He may be backup-level but Maiocco seems pretty positive that he'll be a starter...

He may start for us. But that says less about Tomlinson and more about our current situation at guard. He is a backup guard on nearly every other roster. People shouldn't be surprised when he gets Hoyer killed in week 3. Again, a fair trade for a guy who kinda sucks.

This. It's like you're giving wisdom straight from the mouth of the gods.

Wow, if it's true he's a good zone blocker. More depth at O Line! I'm thinking they really want to keep Hoyer healthy this year!

Not sure if he is a pure zone blocking guard but he was misfit at LG in Detroit. Put him next to Trent Brown and that is one strong right side that can open up massive holes.

I remember him at the senior bowl. Danny Shelton got ZERO push on him and Tomlinson made him quit on a few reps.

Yeah, I remember the Super bowl and Shanahan could not get the run game going to save his super bowl life. I think this is partly because Kyle is suffering from post traumatic super bowl loss syndrome, that he got a man blocker that can possibly be good in zone also. It wouldn't surprise me for Kyle to run combo man/zone schemes on the right and purely zone run schemes on the left. With Staley's athleticism, I can see Kyle calling the counter trey on some of defenses that are extremely disciplined in gap control. We shall see... a 5th rounder in 2019 is equivalent to an undrafted as far as I'm concerned (in terms of draft value) but then again what do I know. I'm clueless about anything to do with drafts or college players.
