go back and watch the first game against the Rams last season. Tomlinson stonewalled Aaron Donald the entire game til the very end--when Donald was forced to switch sides and promptly beat Fusco for a sack that basically ended the game. Your belief that "he has never been good" should be re-examined, imho.

This dude sucks don't know why they signed him.

You losing your s**t about every single thing the Niners do is oh so predictable LOL.

You're right this is predictable this is the same front office that are paying ward and AA almost $20 million combined, paying a 3rd down rb $12 million next year and $137 for a qb that only started 5 games for you. So yeah shouldn't be too surprised right.

AA is making 3 million this season, so Ward and AA are on the books for roughly 11.5 million this year. Your math is almost as bad as your football "opinions".

Lol i never said it was for this year for those two. Might wonna work on the um "reading skills".

Then your point makes zero sense.

AA only has the option picked but that does not mean he is guaranteed that money so your point still holds no water like any of the posts you make.
People forget that, like Garoppolo, Tomlinson didn't have the benefit of training camp to learn Kyle's offense. That he got an extension after last season and now this offseason so far is a good sign that the coaches are happy with how he's come in and learned their scheme.

What happened to attack the post and not the poster or are the rules different for the mods

Saying none of his posts hold water is an attack on what he posts not an attack on who he is.
Good deal.

Clearly this mod likes to bully posters behind his mod badge. Sad
From what I watched last season, this extension doesn't make sense. Why don't wait this season to see if he really makes important progress?

Don't have all the details, but would be better if (like with all of the rest) the contract is heavily front loaded so we can get out of this after one year if he doesn't pan out

Please tell us what you've seen that doesn't make sense.

Reasons for the extension:

1. The $10 million guaranteed over three years is a much softer cap hit than picking up his 5th year option. They already had to do so with AA and Ward, so this is financially sound.

2. He certainly didn't set the world on fire in his first few starts, but statistically and anecdotally, he improved throughout the season. There is no reason to suspect he won't make more improvements with a full off season.

3. This sends a message to the team. Work hard and you will be rewarded. Lost in the ecstasy of last year's finish is that fact that Lynch and Shanahan were tasked with shaping the culture of this team. The Baalke/Harbaugh/ Other Guys saga left this team a disjointed, dysfunctional, and disreputable mess. Tomlinson comes in, works hard, studies hard, improves, and leads by example. Other guys see him sign an extension and will potentially want to emulate him.

4. We are in VERY good cap shape. We can still go after big names next year regardless of this signing.

5. Who knows this guy better than Shanahan and Lynch at this point? Haven't they earned the benefit of the doubt on a mid-sized contract for a player with potential who improved under their tutelage?
