He was a RG at Duke and was much better as a RG for Detroit.

I'd say the connection with Mayhew made this happen since he's the one that drafted him in Detroit. He must feel the talent and upside is still there. I like the trade if for nothing more than depth and upside from a young player.

Exactly. That's all this is. He doesn't have starting guard attributes, but he is good depth. Though, I think his contract gets him cut next offseason when the Niners gain more options at the position.

Beadles is solid and versatile...just shouldn't be a starter.

Everyone knows what you get with Tomlinson. He is a power blocking road grader. Don't make him anything he isn't and don't put him on the left side vs quicker DT's. Put him on the right side and tell him to destroy the NT. Done
