How did Garnette play once he was put in?

Seemed to me like he was holding his own and there was no drop off.

I say we keep him if the price is right. We can't afford to lose the continuity in the line and didn't he win the spot before he got hurt?

I agree. He's not a bad player. Just gets injured.

In the Detroit(?) game when Person went down and Garnett came in he was looking really good before he got hurt as well.

I am JG's biggest critic, but truthfully he played well today.

He played well enough to frustrate Aaron Donald into a personal foul that was never called even though the ref was looking right at them.

Agreed on Laken being able to play next season. Recovery time shouldn't be too long, so he should be back around mid season at the latest (hopefully). Bringing back Person makes a lot of sense now, and drafting a Guard just moved up our priority list. Garnett needs to be traded to any team willing to give us a draft pick, Garnett is to far down our depth chart, and he is going into a contract year. Hope we can find a good Guard in the middle rounds, and roll with Person at LG and Magnuson at RG until Tomlinson comes back.

With the injury to Lake, Garnett becomes more valuable to us than just any draft pick. If Lynch could get a 3rd for him he would just have to turn around and use it on another OG. No gain there. Better to keep a guy that knows the system.

That pissed me the hell off!! Aaron Donald should've been disqualified from the game.

How that was not called should warrant a and a for the ref.

Lakes injury sucks, changes the entire off season honestly. If we can't find a solid FA, we will need to draft a guy to hold down his spot.

I hope Sleezy gets his ankles taken out by one of our guys next season to end his career #RealTalk

We got Garnett and Mag plus there's FA and draft. Laken will be back just in time for our playoff run. Hope he heals 100%

If the next guy up commands the spot and both guards are playing well, then at least we know we got a solid back in LT (insurance).
I think we would be looking for a guard or two in draft and free agency already. Don't think this injury changes much.

If I remember correctly, his contract made it pretty easy to release him this offseason or next. I don't know if he's really in their long term plans.

Garnett has one more year left on his rookie deal. Let him play LG until then and draft another one on day 2 or 3.
Freaking injuries.
His fellow OL teammates just voted him the McKittrick award. Bittersweet.

This isn't "chance" English. There's something wrong in which the way we prepare these players. Every game. Every 3rd series. Only when I watch the 49ers I see this happen. No other game I've seen this year has been like this. Team wide. And I've watched more football this year than I'm willing to admit to.

Laken hadn't missed a snap over past two seasons. Maybe there is a correlation between the other guys' injuries, but Laken's injury was pure bad luck.

I feel bad for the guy. He's been pretty damn solid and consistently improved in the scheme.
