Hate to be the negative one, but in Shanahan's outside zone scheme everything Tomlinson is decent at isn't asked of him, and everything he's supposed to be awful at is asked of him.
Beadles isn't better than a decent backup, but he's a much, much better scheme fit in the run game.
So, I don't like this trade that much, and am pretty confused by it.

This is true but I think his lack of athletesism can be masked as a RG. Call power runs to to the right behind Brown and Tomlinson and stretch plays to the left behind mobile linemen Staley and Beadles.
