It's ridiculously stupid for almost any business to delve into that can of worms. You will almost always tick off half of your clientel, and not many businesses can survive on half.

I'd blame Jed, but it looks like a league wide sickness.

Most people who booed probably already paid for season tickets. The ones who used to watch it on TV will still watch. It may take a minor hit but the ratings will come right back up as the playoff picture begins to unfold. It is still early in the year where the 2nd tier teams are not established.

The fans that boo are as fickle as their leader Trump. If they used to watch it on Sundays, they will keep watching it.

You are correct. Most people won't quit watching. But, some will. The job of the manager of a business is to build it, not throw even small portions of it away. Doesn't seem to me a sports team, or league, delving into politics, is smart.

TV ratings are already down.

Heard people who have DirectTV NFL package have demanded & received refunds because of this.

This thread has exposed a lot of privileged individuals who are unaware of the level of said privilege they have.

These guys have gone out of their way to say its not about the military. People who served in the military say they respect what Kaep began. Nate Boyer (former Navy SEAL) was the one who suggested he kneel to begin with!!!

Its obvious the real issue is that the reason for the protest makes people who don't face those issues very uncomfortable.

Instead of facing that discomfort, they prefer to continue trying to make this about something it is not.

Nick Wright had this 1000% correct.

This is a winning post.
As I have stated elsewhere, I am a big fan of the protest as long as it is triggering the MAGA crowd.

There have been a great deal of things to be offended by since Nov 2016, and you are choosing this to be offended by? Not p***y grabbing? Not for encouraging Russian collusion? Not for firing the FBI Director for investigating Russian collision? Not for appointing his kids to represent the government? How about exploiting the presidency for financial gain? How about just lying about everything? None of this other stuff bothers you, not even a little?

We get it. You love your country. Your country being a 1950s version of America where Jim Crow laws segregated the races, all the gays were in the closet, and women were just having babies and cleaning the house. If that's your vision for America, then fine, that's your right. I however, am morally opposed to allowing this regression take place in the US. We have fought too hard and for too long to allow the gains and progressive achievements from the past 20 years, to watch it sink back into morally bankrupt principles. Sadly, this is where I and many others feel the country is headed, so if taking a knee helps to make people aware of the injustices surrounding our government and nation, then I am all for it.

I am a fan of anyone exercising their right to peacefully protest when they believe an injustice needs to be protested against. These NFL guys are not inciting violence. They are not encouraging riots. They are simply bringing attention to a cause that needs to be highlighted. Many of us feel this country has taken a dramatic turn for the worse. To sit by and do nothing would be un-American. To peacefully protest and campaign is decidedly patriotic.

For those that are uncomfortable by the protest, GOOD. You should not be comfortable. This is the point of the protest. Everything is not ok right now for most people in this country.

I want you to be offended by the protest. Maybe then you will realize that people are being marginalized. In the same way you are offended by the kneeling at the national anthem, I am offended by the all of the circumstances surrounding this president. If the Charlottesville Nazis have "many fine people," and the NFL protesters are "sons of b***hes," then it is obvious where your morals lie. Again, it is your right to believe the way you do. But I will exercise every bit of my rights and freedoms to beat back this kind of ideology.

Kneeling before the anthem is not hurting America.

It is saving America.

Yeah, like I said, they are getting a $280.00 refund.

Broadcast ratings are down too, and that means the broadcasters will offer the NFL less come contract time if this continues, and that means less cap for the players than would otherwise be the case, as they get a percentage over half of league revenue under the cba.

We see enough angry people on the news to want to see more in our sports games. I'm telling you, these people are stupid! If you try to take advantage of what you think is a captive audience, you just might find out they have free will too. They'll walk, while you're screaming "First Amendment Rights".

The first amendment keeps you from being convicted of a crime for what you say. Nothing more.

Imo, this will wear people down over time if it continues, not blow over. Habits take some time to change.

It's the "trendy" thing to do now especially since trump said don't do it. These idiots ain't changing anything , criminals still evade arrest and cops still gonna shoot them.
I've always been for peace and live and let live, but when you've had family that fought in WW1, WW2, Korean War and Viet Nam you stand during the Anthem.

You are talking about the merits of the case. We are talking about the venue.
Dislike. Hate it actually. If kaepernicks plan all along was to get revenge on the league he knew he wasn't good enough for anymore he couldn't have done any better. This s**t is poison.

First amendment guarantees no laws will be passed by Congress to suppress what you want to say... go to work tell your boss he's a piece of s**t (Americans $ are the NFL's boss) it's perfectly legal and incredibly stupid.
