The thing is we don't need a tackle, we need guards. Top 5 is too high for a guard, that's why I think we'll probably trade down and take one in the 12-15 range.

If a tackle like McGlinchey is seen as good enough, then they very well could be a viable option. Its not like Staley has a lot of time left.

This...and he is able to play G in the meantime until Staley moves on

How about moving Staley to guard? It will probably extend his career.

RT would be the logical choice.

And move Brown to LT?

Brown to Guard.
Well this made the second half of the season more interesting. Kinda like the thought of Jimmy winning a few games. It scares our division opponents. Pisses off Patroitland while dropping their 2nd Round pick down. Free Agents get amped to sign with us. And Browns fans start jumping off bridges.

What's the over-under on Jimmy G sideline shots during the Cards game?

Jimmy Garoppolo will have a head start learning Shanahan's complex offense.
Got up this morning to this news, I felt the earth moved, the sky opened, hymns were sung, birds were dancing, and saw savior Shanny waving at us with Garoppolo and Lynch standing next to thy.

Superbowl here we come,

Hopefully, it takes him the rest of the season to learn. I don't want him starting behind that crappy OL.

If by doom squad you mean the folks who aren't afraid to actually look at their team objectively, everybody seems pretty happy with this move so far.

Whoaa. Why many of 49ers fans are happy to get for J.Garoppolo and New England Patriots fans are happy to get for 2nd round in 2018.

I accepted for J.Garoppolo because I am support the 49ers fans and cheer. I am telling you. I am too concerned about if Garoppolo will get hurt again his shoulder? ... And Plus he will be free agent in next year. Come on? We should wait and sign him if he will be free agent in next year. Duh.

Or you get your guy now and not have to compete in a bidding war against the rest of the qb needy teams in free agency. There are never any sure things in free agency. This is Kyle Shanahan's hand picked QB. The only way to ensure that he got him was to make this move now while it was there to be made.

Lol we get the guy the Patriots groomed to replace Brady, and people are still whining. Unreal.

Like I've said people just like to complain and be negative, especially on social media outlets....It's much easier to do.

OH and people for whatever reason like to argue online instead of agreeing on something

adverb: objectively
in a way that is not influenced by personal feelings or opinions.

Pretty sure nobody in this forum (positive or negative) qualifies.
