I've brought it up in the Mods forum and with Webbie, we'll see what can be done. I don't get a Samsung ad, I keep getting a Banner Health ad instead that follows me around all over the forum, its making me paranoid man.
My man! I can't help you with the ad but I can slip in a good word with Webbie to get you a raise if you just get this d*mn thing off my phone. This Samsung ad is a stage five clinger!

Niners right now, not so much
Guys have been getting open for the 49ers. Its just that either the QB is holding on to the football too long or they've just had their face mashed into the turf because the DL pretty much beats the OL right off the snap.
I like the move because it sorta free up the team to draft for other needs. We still have to go on Jimmy G potentials. Gotta shore up that OLine some how.

Can't see BB doing anyone any favors. That guy is ruthless and all about business. Think he realized that Brady is good to go for another 2 to 3 years and couldn't work out a deal with JG to keep him around that long. Got what he could get. He should of traded him this off-season and could of gotten twice as much but I think he wanted to wait and see if Brady would regress.

BB does owe his career to BW

I think that depends on how long Staley is out. If he can come back after the bye, then I think that is when we should start JG.

This acquisition is a perfect happy medium between drafting a QB top3 and signing Cousins. Drafting a rookie would mean having to go through the learning curve of being a pro and learning Kyle's offense. Signing Cousins gets an established pro that requires top dollar. Jimmy is right in the middle of the two and is perfect for where this team is at. He'll have to learn WCO terminology, but he's watched how a winning QB prepares, and won't require top dollar. His style of play as a pocket QB will translate well into his mid-late 30s so age is irrelevant.

Why wouldn't you? We're not going to fix the O-line anytime soon, so unless we plan on sitting him his entire career, we're going to have to start him in a less than ideal situation.
He will help the OL by being much more decisive than Beathard and that will also help the run game. Beathard has been hesitant on his throws and allows the pass rushers to get to him even when receivers have come open. He's a rookie...to be expected. JG's quick release will really help if he can get the playbook down. I don't want them to win any more games though so I hope Beathard plays another few weeks!

This trade was a win on so many levels:
1) We get a player with a high chance of becoming a FQB, only giving up a 2nd round pick. Yes he's unproven, but he's much more proven than any rookie QB as he's actually performed highly in 2 regular season games and 12 preseason games against NFL caliber competition. Don't forget, he was in his own right a 1st round caliber QB prospect coming out of college so no he is nothing like Cassel/Hoyer who had undraftable grades and 2) he, unlike the other qb's, was legitimately seen as the future by the NE org but they were in a desperate situation knowing they couldn't keep both with Jimmy's demands to be a starter and Brady still balling out. The team that knows him as well as anyone refused to trade him at the top of his market because they truly saw him being their franchise after Brady.
2) While his contract is expiring we have total leverage with the franchise tag (this being his first time being tagged so will be a reasonable $23M). Worst case Jimmy and his agent are unreasonable in extension talks, this gives us 1.5 seasons to evaluate him rather than crippling ourselves with a huge money longterm deal on an unproven player. If after next year he still plays hardball we trade him or let him walk and get a 3rd round comp pick. That is worst case scenario. The Texans had to give up a 2nd round pick to offload Osweilers bad contract, that makes this 2nd round pick look like a steal because it gives us leverage to avoid another Osweiler and a potential FQB.

I agree with this. New England held on to Garoppolo long enough to see that Brady wasn't crumbling and opted to get the best deal they could rather than have him walk in the offseason.

I think Staley should be good to go after the bye against the Seachickens,

I would like to think Lynch outlasted Bad Bill...and got a bargain for his efforts.

Rumor was that Cleveland refused to give NE a 2nd round pick, even though they have a bunch of high picks. So SF was an easy decision for BB. If Brady gets hurt the team isn't as likely to win it all and losing JG for no return wasn't a good look. Risk/reward seems to be on BBs side. Now he can trade around or take a future QB in the first or second that will be on a rookie contract until Brady hangs it up.
