So, lets assume JG starts after the bye week against Seattle and we get our ass kicked. How many zoners will be crucifying this trade as another Lynch/Kyle debacle?

Sadly quite a few.
When is the press conference

So this just another "Matt Cassel" or "Ryan Mallet"?

Oh, we're just throwing out random New England QB names? I got $5 on Steve Grogan then.

He could end up being the Savior but not THAT Savior.

huge concern moving forward
Am I the only one skeptical of this trade? I'm excited but just don't know if Jimmy G is 'The Man'. If he is, then we're in a better position this off season. We're staring at the first or second pick in the draft. If we can trade back and get a boat load of picks then we could really do some damage.

After looking at our drafts of the past few years, why not trade a 2nd for Jimmy G?

We weren't gonna do anything with that second rounder anyway, and we can now grab another D-linemen with our 1st rounder in 2018!!!!

Heck. why would the Pats NOT trade him?

That should be the question... he's all under POTENTIAL as off this moment... why say NO to a high 2nd rounder?

Bilichick would probably be retiring anyhow once BRADY's done.. so why not win as much as he can NOW while he still has a QB..

In Bilichick's head, what's Grappy done thus far???

Could he only be the next Cassel... Scott Mitchell.. Doug Johnson... Steve Walsh...???

or, will he be the next STEVE YOUNG??

They tried to resign him all last off season apparently, but jimmy G didn't want half ass money or to sit behind tommy for the next 3 yrs...so they had 3 decisions 1. Let him walk and get a 3rd rd comp pick in 2019 2. Tag him and make your backup the 5th Highest paid qb in the league (and make more money than Tommy) 3. Trade him for a 2nd to a NFC west team.

Go look at what BB and everyone of those pats players have said about jimmy G. BIll Stated....

"First of all, I have a tremendous amount of respect for Jimmy. I couldn't ask for him to give us any more than he's given us. The 49ers are getting a good player, they're getting a good person, and they're getting a great teammate, and they're getting a good quarterback. And Jimmy's getting a good coach. His career is moving forward. He's a talented individual. He's a great person to coach. I met with him weekly, and again, I have a tremendous amount of respect for him."

I couldn't recall him ever saying any of that about his past qbs that got moved. You got guys like ninkovich saying his gonna be a star and has a bright future

http://www.nbcsports.com/boston/video/rob-ninkovich-future-very-bright-jimmy-garoppolo

I don't remember teammates saying s**t about matt cassel.

Also I agree with you it looks like Bill wants to hanging up when tommy retires so time to get the best players that can play right now and win as much as possible in the next 3 yrs.

SO what ya think CC?? Still no plan for this FO? Still All this "window shopping" lol
Im still flying on cloud nine today.

I mocked this guy to us in my final mock draft that year. Finally a player i really pushed for drafting as a potential star in the making makes it onto the roster.

It doesnt happen often.

If you connect trade dots on 4 SF deals, you'll find 49ers got Reuben Foster and Jimmy Garoppolo simply for moving down 1 spot last April.

well if you put it that way
