Another clear sign of the Jimmy runaway hype train. I've only ever implied that I thought CJ could be a good QB. I've also said that Jimmy is a good QB and is better than CJ. But the hype has gotten so out of control that this is somehow seen as insulting JG and trolling.

I think Jimmy could potentially be a top 15 QB in this league. That's high praise for someone who started just 5 games. I think CJ has potential too, and I don't think it's fair to judge him solely on his rookie season considering the circumstances. Shanahan obviously sees something in CJ or he wouldn't have drafted him so high or kept him around as the only backup.

In ,my opinion he never should have been drafted that high but its over now and i think he will be a respectable back up for us. i think he was his ability was retarded in that antiquated offense that the most over rated college football team in the nation in iowa runs. sure he was dealt a bad hand with a terrible line.moron hyde and wide outs who could not catch the ball. but he was not ready to shine under the lights and his role is now set learn work on his craft and hopefully not hurt us if he has to come in in case the still bad o line struggles.

Nope....you said CJ could have done what Jimmy did. However, with a similar sample size and playing a much inferior schedule including 4 home games CJ didn't come close to playing anywhere near the level of what Jimmy did.

Where did I say that CJ would have done what JG did? He could have gone 5-0, but more likely 2-3 or 3-2. I don't think he would have beaten Houston or the Titans tbh.

Also, how can you say CJ faced an inferior schedule? He played the Super Bowl champs in their house.

I agree that he was not ready to play as a rookie, but hopefully the experience will help him in the long run. I look forward to seeing Beathard 2.0 in the preseason.

i admire you for sticking to you guns. but man.. cj just got worse and worse.. i think it is most likely had we never got jimmy. we would have went 0-5 in a most ugly frightful way. that being said. 5-0 means nothing anymore in my opinion

he sure does deserve credit for not being destroyed mentally. i bet its nice for him to know that he does not have to be the man this year and as you said. can just work on his game. get tons of reps in pre season and just be better this year than he was last year. i assume he and the kid we drafted signed will get most of the pre season reps but jimmy of course does need some series in the games to

I don't think he got worse and worse. He got beaten up by the Seattle D in his last game, but the game before that was against the Giants where he played pretty well and flashed some real potential. Yea, maybe he Giants D has given up, but I think the Giants took that game more seriously than Jacksonville did our game against them. Those Giants players were playing to keep their job. Jax didn't think they'd even have to give any effort to beat us until they got a rude awakening in the first quarter.

There was Zero percent chance we go 5-0 with a QB completing 54% of his passes and converting 3rd Downs at a 38% clip.

That was the only road game he had and it was never a game. He played no other playoff teams.

....that why I can't take this serious. We put up 3 TDs in the 4th quarter of the Jax game. I'm pretty sure they knew they were in a game by then.

Maybe. Every team has letdowns. It's hard on a team to travel across the country and mentally prepare to play a game that everyone says should be an easy win. It happens.

You didn't watch the game did you? Jax was let down so much they came back from a 16-0 deficit to take a 19-16 lead in second half with playoff seeding on the line BUT that 1 win Giant team who hated its coach (who was fired a couple weeks later) was playing for keeps

Like I said, the Jags woke up after the first quarter. It was still a trap game for them. They didn't play up to their usual performance, but the talent gap allowed them to make it a game. Not sure how that's controversial. Trap games aren't unheard of. Teams losing to inferior competition due to mental lapses happens all the time.

Do you think that game definitively proves that we are a better team than Jax? I don't think so. I think we'd lose against them 8-9 times out of 10.

That's what I thought...you didn't watch the game. Oh BTW, that Defense that was the "real" reason for the 5-0 gave up 32 first downs and almost 500 yards to Blake Bortles.
