We were 1-4 with Beathard and 5-0 with Jimmy.
The end. Next discussion.
Jimmy played against everyone's back ups, CJ would have won 7 games in the final 5 game stretch
The only one that we played that played there b/u's was the Rams. Others may have had an injury or two, but that can be argued for a lot of teams. Your O also plays the other teams D and not against the O.

Am I the only one who thinks we shoulda just franchise tagged this 7td 5 int quarterback?
We probably should have, but I think they were scared that they would have to pay even more for him if they waited a year since the cost of a top QB goes up every time a franchise QB signs a new deal. It's a bummer, since other than the Patriots, teams generally can't afford the talent necessary to win a Super Bowl unless their QB is on his rookie deal. I hope we haven't shot ourselves in the foot.
From ownership prospective yes. However, if he balls out, it will cost the niners even more money and actually slow the growth of the team. People like Sherman and other FA, might not sign with the niners because the position is unsettled. By paying up front now, the niners are not only showing the perception of commitment, but are striking while the iron is hot. The perception of Jimmy is that he is a player after winning all 4 of his starts with the niners, in the first two years with bonus's the cap hit will be less in year three, maybe even cut there losses if he is such a bust. Also, the niners can sign young talents that are set to expire like Buckner and maybe others. Also allows us to continue to bring in a couple more free agents as each year progress's.
If he is in the top five or even in the top ten, the price they paid will be mere pittance and bargain.
