We're going either 9-7 or 10-6 IMO. 7-9 would be disappointing but not devastating.

If the defense improves and Jimmy continues to produce at a (28ppg, 410ypg) clip we could have s magical type 12-4/13-3 season. However, I suspect we see something a little less then those gaudy Joe and Steve dynasty day type numbers. That doesn't mean Jimmy regressing...it's just that those type numbers are pretty special. If I had to project, I think the offense is in that 370-380 ypg with 25 or so ppg. For a whole season that 400 points and approaching 6000 yards. IMO, that would be a realistic project. Now, as a fan I hope I'm way low on the projection.

I think we at least beat the chiefs in the first four games. I could see them starting out really slow with Mahomes taking some lumps. Still think very highly of him though.

The evidence from last year is that we have a very good quarterback and a good backup. It's surprising that they executed as well as they did their first year in system.

By the time training camp is finished, they should both have a much better feel for Shanny's WCO. Execution should take a huge leap this season.

I anticipate improvement in JG's long ball and Beathard"s short because they will have a more instinctual feel for whose where.

If so, it's going to be hard to stop that machine!

Is it a surprise though? Could it be that Kyle worked his ass off to put both CJ and Jimmy in ideal gameplans where all they had to do was find the open guy? Jimmy's experience allowed him to read the defense and find the open guy better than the rookie.

Could it be that it was because of the play designs and gamplan?
I agree with you and I believe it was good preparation combined with good talent. Nevertheless, their success in execution was "surprising" given that they and the receivers were just getting acquainted and they were working with a dumbed-down playbook. Now that Beathard has a year's experience and JG will have had a full preseason with the full system, even with mechanics aside, JG's long ball and Beathard's short game should improve because they will have a more instinctual feel for who is where in the various route schemes.

Kyle's got a full off season to devise schemes for each opponent. He certainly didn't have that luxury last year.

Mahomes is going to try his college RO crap and Thomas/Foster are going to scrape-exchange his earhole!

I've made my feeling about Kyle abundantly clear over the years (he's was my HC target for at least 3 years and I consider him a top 3 offensive mind in the sport). My 370-380ypg projection most years has you knocking on the Top5 yearly. Usually 410 will be a top 1 or 2 seasonally.

Jimmy G=340/520 4200yards 65% 27tds 14ints 96Qb rating

I hope I'm low....but this would fit in with my feeling of the numbers I mentioned above and would be a real nice first full season as starter.

That seems very doable...very.
