I got mine.

I want him to succeed so I'm not getting it until he's in the HOF after winning us several SBs.

For reference my last 2 jersesys

Manny Lawson - didn't feel like getting a Willis one cuz EVERYONE was getting one
Colin Kaepernick - got his during his rookie season

I'm not about to curse any other player

You could go pick up some rams jerseys.

There are many examples where teams overpaid a QB who looked like the next big thing based on limited action.

Colin being one example.

It's all a gamble. I think Jimmy will do fine. Colin never had that Tom Brady or Joe Montana mentor that Jimmy and Steve had.

Gonna develop you, then trade you to another team.

If Kyle is being honest to CJ, why not.
After the first half of of the season we will know for sure who JG is. Those first four games are going to be brutal.

Not really, I think even after his first year with us we still won't know what his ceiling is

I agree we won't know what his ceiling is. My meaning was about he handles tough games and maybe consecutive losses.

A friend played with Scott Barry, who was drafted by the Niners in 85. He was 6th round pick. It was clear he wasn't going to make the team, and he was cut after the first preseason game. The last preseason game was coming up, the Chargers want a better look at the guy, so the Niners resigned him, let him play a quarter. The Chargers passed, and he ended up in the CFL. Didn't have enough to make it there either.

My point is, coaches always want players to succeed, even if they are not part of their plans. So, I would fully expect Kyle to coach his ass off trying to improve CJ's game. If not just to have a better back up, but to help the kid develop. Sure if he plays well, but can't take the job from Jimmy, he will be more valuable in a trade if he is developed, so its a natural win, win.

I think good coaches, and good teams are more honest and up front with players, its a business after all.

I'll be drafting them early in FF. Lost 5 of my top 6 picks last year to injury/suspension.

Colin also didn't show that he could be thrown into a very complicated offense, face good defenses and make chicken salad out of chicken chit.

CJ is smart enough to know what is happening. You never know if you might get a Nick Foles type chance before then though. Not feeling sorry for CJ, he is in a perfect situation.

CJ, is in a far better position than say a guy like Davis Webb with the Giants.

The Giants pegged Webb as a better talent than CJ, yet never bothered to play him at all last year during the Eli benching debacle. Who knows if/when he will ever play for the Giants, given that Eli's time is another season or two at best.

Their new coach Shurmur is an improvement over the McAdoo regime, but still not on Shanahan level. All he has right now are superior skill position players in Beckham and Barkley.

CJ has real NFL experience in a real offense. To me, he's better than Webb based on what he's actually done.

Can't complain too much. He was in many people's minds overdrafted to a bad team and still got about as much playing time as #1 overall Alex Smith in his rookie season.

If the 49ers didn't trade for Garoppolo, he probably finishes the season and the team drafts a QB with a top 3 pick.

Cj hasn't even done what foles has done before he stepped in for Wentz
