I see people saying this and I've had fans of other teams on another board claim people are overboard calling Jimmy elite and my question to him and you....
who is doing that?
There may be a few people on here who threw that out there in jest but has anyone who was actually being serious claimed Garoppolo is already up there with the top QBs in the league or is elite?
Keep in mind there is a difference in saying he shows elite QB traits and saying the guy is actually elite.
My favorite is when people throw out the "Teams will have some film on him" and when I respond with "I guess defenses are still waiting on more film from guys like Tom Brady, Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers?" Their rebuttal is always "Oh so now Garoppolo is as good as those guys?"
No, he's not. However he shows excellent traits and has a lot of potential and COULD get to that level. The point is defenses getting more film on a QB doesn't mean that QB is suddenly going to turn into an ugly duckling after looking like a swan before.
Garoppolo still has to go out there and prove he can play at a high level consistently over the whole season+. We haven't seen him in the playoffs and we haven't seen him even start half a season, let alone a full season. He's shown great things and the arrow is pointed in the right direction with him but yes he has to prove it time and time again.
Hopefully he does just that.
